GENERAŁ DYWIZJI BRONISŁAW PRUGAR-KETLING. BIOGRAFIA WOJSKOWA

Abstract

Moja praca nosi tytuł „Biografia Wojskowa Generała Dywizji Bronisława Prugara-Ketlinga”. Przedstawiam w niej postać patrioty a przede wszystkim wybitnego oficera Wojska Polskiego, w sposób chronologiczny ukazuję, ścieżkę jego kariery. Zaczynając od czasów dzieciństwa, poprzez służbę w Cesarsko Królewskiej Armii Austro-Węgierskiej, by następnie skupić się na okresie służby w odradzającym się Wojsku Polskim. Podczas pierwszego światowego konfliktu między 1914 a 1918 rokiem, przyszło mu walczyć zarówno w armii Państw Centralnych, jak i po stronie Ententy. Walczył on w Galicji, by po dostaniu się do niewoli rosyjskiej, zbiec do Francji. Tutaj został on wcielony do polskiej tzw. Błękitnej Armii. Przysłużywszy się umacnianiu niepodległości zagrożonej ojczyzny, wspina się on po szczeblach wojskowej kariery. Wszystko to skutkuje faktem, iż do kolejnego światowego konfliktu przystępuje on już jako dowódca 11. Karpackiej Dywizji Piechoty. Z którą, dzielnie walczy podczas kampanii wrześniowej, by następnie po jej tragicznym finale, przedostać się do Francji gdzie oprócz awansu do stopnia generała brygady otrzymał pod swoją komendę 2. Dywizję Strzelców Pieszych. Po kampanii z roku 1940 zostaje ona internowaniu we Szwajcarii, gdzie pozostaje do końca wojny, by następnie powrócić do ojczyzny nie zdejmując munduru żołnierza WP do śmierci w 1948 r.My work is entitled "Military Biography of Major General Bronisław Prugar-Ketling ". I present in it the figure of a patriot and, above all, an eminent officer of the Polish Army. In chronological order, I show the path of his career. I start from the general’s childhood, then go on to present his service in the Imperial Royal Austro-Hungarian Army, to later focus on the period of his service in the reborn Polish Army. During the first world conflict between 1914 and 1918, he fought in both the Central States’ army and the Entente's side. He also came to fight in Galicia to later escape to France after having been taken prisoner by the Russians. In France he was incorporated into the Polish “Blue Army”. Serving the cause of strengthening of the independence of the threatened homeland, he climbs the ranks of a military career. All this results in the fact that he joins the next world conflict as commander of the 11th Carpathian Infantry Division with which he bravely fights during the September campaign. After its tragic finale, the general got to France, where apart from the promotion to the rank of brigadier general, he received under his command the 2nd Rifle Division. After the campaign of 1940 he was interned in Switzerland, where she remained until the end of the war and then return to his homeland without rejecting the uniform of a Polish Army soldier until his death in 1948.
