Koryto badanego potoku w zostało przekształcone poprzez budowę progów i przepustów kołowych (lata 70. XX w.). Wykonano pomiary parametrów hydromorfologicznych koryta i fizyko-chemicznych wody. W każdym roku badań odławiano ryby, a makrozoobentos pobierano na wszystkich stanowiskach trzykrotnie w każdym roku badań (2009, 2014, 2019). W każdej porze roku 2017/2018, pobrano też próby bentosu w mikrosiedliskach. Analizy statyczne wykonano stosując m.in. PERMANOVA, PCA, PCO, RDA.
The research stream channel was transformed by building weirs and round culverts (1970s). The structures become barriers for fish, and transformed habitats for invertebrates. In 2012 barriers were removed. The study objective was the assessment of the response of aquatic fauna to anthropogenic transformations of habitats in a mountain stream. The research was conducted in two periods, i.e., before (2009), and after the renaturisation (2014-2021). Hydromorphological parameters of the channel and physical and chemical water properties were measured. Fish were captured in each year of the study, and macrozoobenthos was sampled three times in three year (2009, 2014, 2019). Moreover, in each season of the 2017/2018 year, benthos samples were collected in microhabitats. Statistical analyses were performed using e.g.: PERMANOVA, PCA, PCO, RDA. The restored channel sections offered favourable habitats for fish, providing hiding places, seasonal refugia, spawning grounds and fry growth habitats. Main factors affecting the structure of the macrozoobenthos included: the character of substrate, including the boulders cemented into the bottom, and presence of organic matter. The analysis of microhabitats showed among others that oligochaetes and some chironomids were positively correlated with the presence of fine-grained sediment on the bottom. Concreted boulders were correlated the strongest with beetles Elmidae or mayflies Baetidae. It was evidenced that if the stream channel was reconstructed with the application of appropriately selected renaturisation techniques, the aquatic fauna can be abundant and diverse.eng
