Pozycja A Teacher in the Era of the Spread of Artificial Intelligence Applications – Challenges and Difficulties(The University of Rzeszów Publishing House, 2023-12) Ścieranka, SandraThe tasks of a modern teacher are definitely different from those they had to perform a decade ago. In the era of various changes taking place, constantly developing, but also accompanying digitization in every sphere of life, the role of the teacher takes on a new meaning – flexibility and openness to changes on their part become necessary. Therefore, teachers face new challenges, roles and skills to expand. The conducted considerations are aimed at showing the impact of digitization both on the daily work of the teacher, the performance of professional functions, as well as his relationship with students. The punchline becomes the need to use artificial intelligence tools, as well as the essence and necessity of media literacy of modern teachers, which is reflected in the entire didactic process carried out among students shaped by digitization and the world of media. Among the others, the aim of the work was to determine attitudes of the educators (on the rating scale) about the presented approach to the work.Pozycja A University as a Driving Force of Ecological Initiatives for Society(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Sobczyk, Wiktoria; Ciepiela, MaciejThis paper emphasizes the role of universities in encouraging ecological initiatives for sustainable development. We characterized the origin of sustainability and its consistency with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. Moreover, we present ecological education as the concept of lifelong learning in the spirit of respect for the natural world. The examples of pro-ecological higher education initiatives were described, such as Poznan School of Logistics (“EKO-LOG” programme), Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce and the University of Social and Medical Sciences in Warsaw (education of ethnic minorities), Andrzej Frycz-Modrzewski Krakow University and the University of Agriculture in Krakow (Friend of the National Park educational program) as well as the AGH University of Science and Technology (continuing education). It has been shown that schools and universities play a major role in environmental education not only for children, but also adults. It is worth mentioning that the potential and clout of universities should be continuously employed in the environmental movement.Pozycja An Analysis on Research Trends of Distance Education(The University of Rzeszów Publishing House, 2023-12) Mitroulia, Maria; Armakolas, Stefanos; Krotký, JanThe term “Distance Education” (hereafter DE) is gaining popularity amid new global trends in cross-cultural studies of transnational education. The main objective of this article is to identify the academic research development and future research goals in the Distance Education domain using the Scopus database in the last decade (2012–2022). To this end, a bibliometric analysis was performed examining the distribution of publications, the most influential scientific publication venues, the most productive authors, and regions and concluding with an explanation of the keywords co-occurrence in line with the VOSviewer program. The outcomes revealed that the most frequently examined topics in the field of DE can be detected, which focused on distance learning, online teaching, online education, moocs, ICT, and constitute subgenres of the literature under consideration. All in all, the paper can help scholars understand and decipher current trends, keep up with DE research directions, and finally enable them to conduct their future research more effectively.Pozycja Analysis of Study Results of Development of Foreign Language Communicative Commptence of Lecturers of Higher Military Educational Institutions(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Aristarkhova, MarharytaThe article deals with the essence of theoretic and experimental check of author’s andragogical model of development of foreign language communicative competence of lecturers of higher military educational institutions into educational process. The definition of “foreign language communicative competence” and its structure is proposed by author. The efficiency of the andragogical model was statistically proved.Pozycja Analysis of the Impact of Gamification on Learning Efficiency on the Example of a Mobile Application(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Dymora, Paweł; Mazurek, Mirosław; Gołda, WojciechThe article analyses the impact of gamification on the effectiveness of the learning process with the use of the original mobile application. Gamification methods and gamification assessments attract more and more attention from both researchers and practitioners. We present the impact of learning rules and regulations of handball on the future referees of handball and people from the handball community (players, activists, sympathizers) from the implemented mobile application in comparison with the traditional method, i.e., from books or printed regulations. The results of the knowledge test for the users of the application were much better than traditional education. The analysis showed that in the first test, the users using the application and traditional learning achieved the same results (52%). In contrast, in the second test, the users using the application achieved 73% in comparison with the group not using the app (59%). Such a result may indicate that learning from the application has a good impact on the user. The adoption of gamification in learning and teaching is very popular and stimulating student motivation, involvement, and social influence.Pozycja Application of Digital Data Analysis Technology in Education(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Kovalev, Evgeniy E.The main directions of digitalization of the education system are considered, the infrastructural and technological aspect of new strategic directions of development is analyzed. The author analyzed information systems and services in education, taking into account the possibility of using technologies for analytical data processing. The problem of using data analytics tools in education at present is the lack of uniform formats and tools for integrating information systems. Data in education accumulates in various solutions that do not share the results of the educational process. Based on this, it is impossible to build a clear system of end-to-end interaction between systems on common platforms. The author aims to solve this problem by modeling an integrated solution for data analysis at all levels of education. The article proposes technical and organizational solutions for the creation of integrated analytics services that allow accumulating and transmitting data on educational results during the transition of a student between learning levels. The analysis tools are based on the use of big data technologies.Pozycja Approach to the Subject “DETE I EKOLOGIJA” by Applyingict at Preschool Institution(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2022-12) Hilčenko, Slavoljub; Nikolić, SanjaThis text represents working approach to the subject “CHILD AND ECOLOGY” = „DETE I EKOLOGIJA” by applying ICT at preschool institution. The work is reflected in a combination of discussions about ecology, practical presentation of rules in recycling and sorting of various waste, projection of the educational film “EKOLOGIJA” and individual solving of play sheets by children. Among the others, the aim of the work was to determine attitudes of the educators (on the rating scale) about the presented approach to the work.Pozycja Artificial (un)Intelligence – an Opportunity or a Threat?(Publishing Office UR, Rzeszów, 2020) Raczykowska, AnetaThe article contains considerations relating to the dynamic development of artificial intelligence, which is the fastest growing technology in the world. The article attempts to define concepts that state what intelligence and artifical intelligence is (1). It also draws attention to the development of artificial intelligence (2). All of them are closing arguments seeking answers to the question: Artificial intelligence – an opportunity or a threat? (3). It should be borne in mind that the continuous improvement of the possibilities of artificial intelligence means that it will be able to surpass human intellectually.Pozycja Artificial Intelligence and Ethics(The University of Rzeszów Publishing House, 2023-12) Hilcenko, Christine; Taubman-Bassirian, TaraA more covert aspect of Artificial Intelligence (AI) pertains to the ethical quandaries surrounding the actions of machines. In the case of Large Language Models (LLMs), hidden beneath their seemingly impeccable automated outputs lies a colossal amalgamation of trillions of compiled data points, comprising copied blogs, articles, essays, books, and artworks. This raises profound questions about copyright ownership and retribution for the original authors. But beyond intellectual property, another insidious facet of LLMs emerges – their propensity to cause harm to individuals through what can only be described as hallucinatory outputs. Victims of these AI- -generated delusions suffer defamation, and their plight remains largely unnoticed. Amidst the marvels of AI, the plight of the underpaid laborers who form the backbone of AI development is seldom acknowledged, a subject that warrants more profound discussion. Furthermore, as AI algorithms continue to permeate various aspects of society, they bring to the fore issues of bias. For instance, facial recognition technologies frequently exhibit skewed outcomes, leading to false accusations and grave consequences due to over-reliance on these technologies.Pozycja Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education: Development Trends and New Reality(The University of Rzeszów Publishing House, 2023-12) Chervona, Lesya; Lakusha, Nataliia; Krokhmal, Nataliia; Myroshnychenko, SerhiiThe article reveals various aspects of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education. Prospects for the use of AI in higher education are discussed, and specific examples of the use of AI for educational purposes are considered. AI, having great potential for improving the quality of higher education, also carries potential risks of use that must be taken into account. The role of artificial intelligence in the educational process of higher education, evaluation and management of educational processes is emphasized. That is why attention is focused on the issue of what aspects are behind the use of AI in education. The issue of ethical and social consequences of the use of AI in education is discussed.Pozycja Child: “I don’t Understand – We didn’t Learn that in Kindergarten!”(The University of Rzeszów Publishing House, 2023-12) Hilčenko, Slavoljub; Nikolić, SanjaBy the end of 2022, Serbia transformed its preschool education system, transitioning from a traditional approach to a project-based learning approach. However, if this transformation remains limited to preschool education without coordinated changes in learning at lower (and even higher) grades of elementary school in the next 4–8 year cycle, teachers, children, and their parents will be most affected. We believe that the new project-based approach to learning for children will not provide adequate fundamental and systematic knowledge in many scientific fields, including mathematics methodology (e.g., spatial and temporal relationships, arithmetic, number concept, ratios, fractions, geometry…). The consequences will not only be visible in their further education but also in their inadequate preparation to navigate their environment and understand space, time, relationships, and other mathematical concepts. This is what the educators' survey results are talking. The aim of this paper is to highlight possible problems since the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Education have not suggested a linear reform of these education levels.Pozycja Comment: ICT in Preschool(Publishing Office UR, Rzeszów, 2020) Hilčenko, SlavoljubICT Tools are not primary, but secondary learning source for teaching abstract mathematical concepts at preschool institution. As a matter of fact, for children ICT Tools don’t have the power of immediate and practical experience or experimental work, which are the primary source of learning such contents. ICT Tools can only be used to revise knowledge after children have acquired it through direct manipulative activities and experiments, which require sensory experiences (eyes, hands). In that way children estimate volume of different liquids and their dishes firstly subjectively and then objectively.Pozycja Comparison of Angular, React, and Vue Technologies in the Process of Creating Web Applications on the User Interface Side(The University of Rzeszów Publishing House, 2023-12) Dymora, Paweł; Mazurek, Mirosław; Nycz, MariuszThis paper presents a comparative analysis of three programming technologies and their application in building a web application, taking into account the code on the server-side and the user interface side. Three equivalent applications Angular, Vue, and React were analyzed. The needs for web applications are described, the implementation of particular functionalities in all technologies is presented together with the programming of database functionalities. The article is aimed at helping students of computer science faculties to make an informed choice of a framework or library for a specific project, taking into account the differences between these popular solutions.Pozycja Comparison of Self-Concept and Self-Perceived School Success of Children with Foster Home or Family Upbringing(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Tirpák, Jan; Uhrinová, MiriamThis study is concerned with comparing the self-concept and self-perceived school success of children aged 10–15 years growing up in foster homes or in family environments. The research was carried out using the standardized Studentʼs Perception of Ability Scale (SPAS) questionnaire (Matějček, Vágnerová, 1992), applied to a sample cohort of 178 selected respondents. The article reflects key aspects relating to this research.Pozycja Covid Tracking Apps, Over Reliance on Technology, Bias and Unfairness(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Hilcenko, Christine; Taubman-Bassirian, Tara; Kovacic, ZoranVarious contact tracing apps tracking the spread of the pandemic were issued in different countries. Mainly based on two technologies, centralised with more control by the governments or decentralised controlled by the Apple or Google Android mobile phone systems. In this paper, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the different systems, as well as their potential dangers.Pozycja Design and Creation of Electronic Teaching Aid for Effectiveness and Attractiveness of Education Increasing(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Kováčik, PeterThe article analyses requirements of new methods of student education at the level of secondary school with professional electrical and electronic focus. It describes the creation of a new teaching aid that incites fantasy, concentration and motivation to create interesting things by self competence of students oriented to the electrical field of study. At the same time it orientates students towards unconventional ways of thinking and non orthodox solutions. Teaching aid exploits digital form that is attractive for young people with the aspiration to focus the attention of students to study professional knowledge.Pozycja Designing Experiments for a Research-Oriented Model of Learning in the Subject of Technique in Lower Secondary Education(The University of Rzeszów Publishing House, 2023-12) Ďuriš, Milan; Očkajová, Alena; Kvasnová, PetraIn this article, attention is paid to the selected design of experiments that will be part of a research-oriented model of students’ education in the subject of Technique in lower secondary education in the Slovak Republic. The proposed model of education reflects the long-term needs of students’ education in the subject of Technique, which, despite the updated content of the curriculum in the Educational Standard of the subject of Technique, have not yet been met. Part of the model is the application of formative assessment of students in the framework of the implemented experiential learning of students. Due to the limited scope of this article, two experiments from the set of proposed experiments are presented with the methodology of the actual implementation. The given problem is solved within the KEGA project No. 006UMB-4/2022 in the years 2022–2024.Pozycja Didactic Film in Computer-Aided Education of People with Visual and Hearing Impairments(The University of Rzeszów Publishing House, 2023-12) Jędryczkowski, JacekArtificial intelligence mechanisms enable fast speech transcription and printed text recognition (Optical Character Recognition). Speech synthesizers for reading any digital documents have also become popular. In most cases, these are free solutions that can significantly support the education and functioning of people with visual and hearing impairments. Unfortunately, the knowledge of parents and caregivers on this subject is insufficient. Bearing this in mind, a suitable series of educational videos was prepared and published on YouTube. Subsequently, research was conducted to determine whether and to what extent there is a demand for video materials on this topic. For this purpose, the method of implicit observation was used, carried out using YouTube Analytics mechanisms. Its results are available in the form of numerous reports and summaries. Based on the collected materials, a considerable interest in the study was found. It was possible to determine which issues are of particular interest to the recipients. The obtained results will allow for further development of the educational offer.Pozycja Didactic Significance of Modern Simulation Programs in Vocational Education – Divagations from Own Research(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2020) Prauzner, TomaszSimulation programs in polytechnic (vocational) education have an important didactic function. On the one hand, they are a great example of modern didactic software, on the other hand, knowledge of the simulation software environment by a future graduate of a technical university increases the qualifications of the future employee and allows him to acquire an attractive profession. In the era of high requirements set by employers and competition on the education market, their knowledge seems highly justified. However, whether simulation programs, especially deterministic ones, can also act as teaching aids is not so obvious. In this article, in addition to purely theoretical considerations, will be presented stages of own research on didactic efficiency, or more precisely the impact of this group of software on the cognitive process during learning. More importantly, the didactic effectiveness was tested based on typical pedagogical research as well as by means of electroencephalographic tests using the QEEG method.Pozycja Didactic Significance of Modern Simulation Programs in Vocational Education – Divagations from Own Research(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Ridei, Nataliia; Tytova, Nataliia; Pavlenko, Dmytro; Oleksandr, Slabetskyi; Semenyuk, YuriiWe developed, justified and verified methodological foundations for the professional training of specialists in public management of quality and security of socio-cultural forms of education, science and innovation systems of diploma-training of future representatives of the academic sphere, successors of scientific heritage of the trans-boundary level to consolidate the efforts of quality and safety cohesion of acquired and prolonged trajectories of employment and professional development , pleasure insurance according to the needs and requirements of interested and academically worthy and capable categories of applicants for educational and scientific services and consulting and advisory services to build intellectual and emotional capacity of perspective development of transcultural interaction of communicative perception of understanding and consent of diverse categories of society without breaking the biosocial stability equilibrium.
