Abstract

In my article, I analyse Ottessa Moshfegh’s novel My Year of Rest and Relaxation by taking into consideration aspects of depressed women fiction genre. I situate the novel in broader societal context and analyse its popularity in new social media, especially on TikTok. Moreover, I present Ottessa Moshfegh’s interpretation of her books and connect it with My Year of Rest and Relaxation’s ending.
