Konsumpcja-utopia-implozja: główne repezentacje społeczeństwa współczesnego w ujeciu Jeana Baudrillarda

Abstract

Niniejsza praca doktorska stanowi opracowanie monograficzne na temat zasadniczych reprezentacji społeczeństwa współczesnego w ujęciu Jeana Baudrillarda. Reprezentacje te stanowią: społeczeństwo konsumpcyjne, społeczeństwo Stanów Zjednoczonych oraz masy. Poszczególne aspekty związanych z nimi zagadnień zanalizowano dokonując szczegółowej rekonstrukcji poglądów Jeana Baudrillarda oraz odnosząc jego myśl do myśli innych autorów. W pracy zaprezentowano ponadto życiorys intelektualny analizowanego myśliciela, jego inspiracje badawcze oraz cechy charakterystyczne jego myśli. Uwzględniono również główne koncepcje teoretyczne Baudrillarda istotne z punktu widzenia socjologii: teorię symulacji, teorię konsumpcji, mas i władzy, jak również wątek medialny i watek globalizacji interpretowanej przez Baudrillarda z punktu widzenia wydarzeń z 11 września 2001 roku. Przedstawione w niniejszej pracy, komplementarne względem siebie zagadnienia tworzą spójną całość szeroko odzwierciedlającą krytyczną diagnozę społeczeństwa ponowoczesnego sformułowaną przez Jeana Baudrillarda.

This doctoral dissertation is a monographic study on the fundamental representations of contemporary society in the view of Jean Baudrillard. These representations are: consumer society, society of the United States and the masses. Partiocular aspects of related issus were analyzed by referring his thought to the thoughts of other authors. The dissertations presents as well the intellectual biography of the analyzed thinker, his research inspirations and the characteristics of his thoughts. It considers futhermore the main theoretical concepts of Baudrillard relevant from the point of view of siolology: the theory of simulation, the theory of consumption, masses and power, as well as the thread of media and thread of globalization interpretared by Baudrillard from the point of view of the events of September 11, 2001. The complementary issues presernted in this dissertation form a coherent whole, broadly reflecting the critical diagnosis of postmodern society formulated by Jean Baudrillard.
