Abstract

The article characterises the structure and powers of the Ministry of the former Prussian District at the threshold of the Second Republic of Poland. It analyses the activities of the Department of Art and Culture, headed by Kazimierz Filip Wize, for the establishment of music education in Poznań at the threshold of the Second Republic of Poland. Attention is drawn to the important role played in these activities by musicologists and composers Henryk Opieński and Łucjan Kamieński.
