The study is devoted to the functioning of the Polish language in the village of Vershina, Irkutsk region of the Russian Federation. This village, one of the few places in Russia where, in addition to the Russian language, the Polish language is widely used in everyday life, is due to the fact that the majority of the population of the village are ethnic Poles who settled here at the beginning of the 20 th century. As part of the research work, the following tasks were set:
1. Identify the type of migration process that resulted in the emergence of this enclave.
2. Make a linguistic description of the dialect.
3. To reveal the regularities of the interaction of the Polish language with the Russian idiom, in the environment of which it functions.
