The present paper deals with a problem-based teaching in a foreign language classroom. The author enumerates the basic advantages of incorporating problem-based teaching at the university level teaching philology students as well as shows that it can be supported by information and communication technologies. The approach presented in the article, according to the author, helps to form basic abilities and competences necessary on labour market nowadays.
