Abstract

Publikacja zwiera streszczenia wystąpień z drugiej Międzynarodowej Konferencji pt. 2nd International Conference: Emerging Environmental Contaminants – current status, challenges and perspectives, która dobyła się w dniach 9–11 września 2026 roku, w Uniwersytecie Rzeszowskim. Tematyka konferencji obejmowała współczesne problemy zanieczyszczenia środowiska, aktualne kierunki badań, nowe metody analityczne oraz innowacyjne rozwiązania stosowane w monitoringu, ocenie ryzyka i ograniczaniu wpływu zanieczyszczeń na środowisko i zdrowie człowieka. Zakres tematyczny konferencji obejmował problemy związane z ochroną gleb, wód i atmosfery, obecnością nowych zanieczyszczeń, mikroplastików, PFAS, farmaceutyków, pestycydów, metali ciężkich i WWA, a także oceną ich ekotoksyczności. Zebrane w publikacji prace prezentują różnorodne podejścia do identyfikacji źródeł zanieczyszczeń, ich przemian i oddziaływania na organizmy oraz ekosystemy. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono nowoczesnym technikom analitycznym i monitoringowym, metodom bioindykacyjnym, procesom remediacji oraz technologiom usuwania zanieczyszczeń z wody i gleby. Praca dokumentuje interdyscyplinarny charakter współczesnych badań środowiskowych, łączących nauki biologiczne, chemiczne, techniczne, rolnicze i środowiskowe. Publikacja stanowi tym samym przegląd aktualnych problemów i kierunków rozwoju badań nad nowymi zanieczyszczeniami środowiska oraz tworzy podstawę do dalszej współpracy naukowej i rozwoju praktycznych rozwiązań służących ochronie środowiska.

The publication contains abstracts of presentations delivered during the 2nd International Conference: Emerging Environmental Contaminants – current status, challenges and perspectives, which was held on 9–11 September 2026 at the University of Rzeszów. The conference focused on current challenges related to environmental pollution, current research directions, novel analytical methods, and innovative solutions applied in environmental monitoring, risk assessment, and the mitigation of the impact of pollutants on the environment and human health. The thematic scope of the conference covered issues related to the protection of soil, water, and the atmosphere, as well as the occurrence of emerging contaminants, microplastics, PFAS, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, heavy metals, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, together with the assessment of their ecotoxicity. The contributions collected in this publication present a wide range of approaches to identifying sources of pollution, investigating the transformation of contaminants, and assessing their effects on organisms and ecosystems. Particular attention was devoted to modern analytical and monitoring techniques, bioindication methods, remediation processes, and technologies for the removal of contaminants from water and soil. The publication documents the interdisciplinary nature of current environmental research, bringing together biological, chemical, technical, agricultural, and environmental sciences. It therefore provides an overview of current challenges and research directions in the field of emerging environmental contaminants and establishes a foundation for further scientific cooperation and the development of practical solutions aimed at environmental protection.
