Socjolingwistyka a dialektologia – przeszłość i współczesność

Abstract

W artykule zostały przedstawione powiązania socjolingwistyki i dialektologii, w tym elementy zbliżenia i wzajemnego przenikania się w warunkach przemian cywilizacyjno-technologicznych. Obie dyscypliny łączy badanie języka mówionego mieszkańców wsi oraz sposób określenia wzajemnych relacji społecznych i mentalnościowych na granicy przeszłości i współczesności. Dla badań dialektologicznych szczególnie ważny jest zasięg geograficzny i przekaz kulturowy, dla badań socjolingwistycznych społeczne determinanty zachowań językowych, ale w obu przypadkach należy uwzględnić jeden i drugi aspekt. Włączenie metod socjolingwistycznych do dialektologii, a dialektologicznych do socjolingwistyki pozwala na nakreślenie kompleksowego obrazu współczesnej rzeczywistości wiejskiej oraz wyjaśnienie kontekstów społecznych, kulturowych i obyczajowych. Rozważania teoretyczne zostały zilustrowane przykładami wypowiedzi mieszkańców wsi regionu lubelskiego z lat 1990–2023.

The article presents the connections between sociolinguistics and dialectology, including elements of rapprochement and mutual interpenetration in the conditions of civilization and technological changes. Both disciplines share the study of the spoken language of rural inhabitants and the way of defining mutual social and mental relations on the border between the past and the present. For dialectological research, the geographical scope and cultural transmission are particularly important, for sociolinguistic research, the social determinants of linguistic behaviour, but in both cases both aspects should be taken into account. Including sociolinguistic methods in dialectology, and dialectological methods in sociolinguistics, makes it possible to draw a comprehensive picture of contemporary rural reality and explain social, cultural and moral contexts. Theoretical considerations are illustrated with examples of statements made by inhabitants of villages in the Lublin region from 1990–2023.
