Obchody Milenium Chrztu Polski w diecezji przemyskiej i tysiąclecia polskiej państwowości w województwie rzeszowskim

Abstract

Dysertacja poświęcona jest obchodom Milenium Chrztu Polski na terenie diecezji przemyskiej oraz tysiącleciu państwowości polskiej organizowanym przez ówczesne władze państwowe. Praca składa się z pięciu rozdziałów, w których zostało omówione ogólne tło wydarzeń Milenium i tysiąclecia, następnie przygotowania do wymienionych wydarzeń, stworzone założenia, uroczystości centralne, związane z nimi akcje o wymiarze społecznym oraz owoce. W pracy zostały zastosowane metody: analityczno-syntetyczna z elementami metody statystycznej, porównawczej i równoległej. Treść dysertacji oparta została o kwerendę archiwów kościelnych i państwowych, źródła drukowane a także relacje ustne bezpośrednich świadków tamtych wydarzeń. Celem zasadniczym pracy było ukazanie obchodów Milenium Chrztu Polski w ramach diecezji przemyskiej i toczących się równolegle wydarzeń mających podkreślić dokonania PRL-u, tworzących kalendarz organizowanych przez komunistyczne władze uroczystości tysiąclecia polskiej państwowości. Odznaczały się one konfrontacyjnym charakterem i z założenia miały stanowić alternatywę dla uroczystości kościelnych. Milenium Chrztu Polski umocniło pozycję Kościoła w społeczeństwie co ostatecznie przyczyniło się do zachodzących w późniejszym okresie przemian a w konsekwencji do obalenia komunistycznego ustroju w Polsce.The dissertation is devoted to the celebration of the Millennium of the Baptism of Poland in the Przemyśl diocese and the millennium of Polish statehood organized by the then state authorities. The work consists of five chapters, in which the general background of the millennium and millennium events was discussed, followed by preparations for the mentioned events, assumptions created, central celebrations, related social actions and fruits. The following methods were used in the work: analytical and synthetic with elements of the statistical, comparative and parallel methods. The content of the dissertation was based on a query of church and state archives, printed sources as well as oral accounts of direct witnesses of those events. The main purpose of the work was to show the celebration of the Millennium of the Baptism of Poland as part of the Przemyśl diocese and events taking place simultaneously, to emphasize the achievements of the Polish People's Republic, creating a calendar of celebrations of the millennium of Polish statehood organized by the communist authorities. They had a confrontational character and were intended to be an alternative to church ceremonies. The millennium of the Baptism of Poland strengthened the position of the Church in society, which ultimately contributed to the subsequent changes and, as a consequence, to the overthrow of the communist system in Poland.
