During the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, the Sandomierz Upland was inhabited by communities of the so-called Tarnobrzeg Lusatian culture, which incorporated a range of cultural traits inspired by the Scythians which can be discerned in their ornaments, ceramics, and weaponry. Until recently, evidence of these eastern influences had been scarce and largely incidental. The recent discovery of two arrowheads – from Zawichost and Wyszmontów – clearly associated with the Scythian cultural sphere, significantly expands the available evidence for such contacts in the region. This paper offers a formal and typological analysis of these artefacts and considers the possible routes by which they may have reached the Sandomierz Upland.eng
