Powszechne zastosowanie technologii poszerzonej rzeczywistości wynikać może z jej dużych możliwości prezentacyjnych i elastyczności aplikacyjnej. Jednak bezsporne walory i zalety poszerzonej rzeczywistości nie mogą przesłonić istniejących lub potencjalnych problemów i zagrożeń.
