The main objectives are: to identify the essence of the aviation alliances, to detect the directions of their integrative development, to spot the tendencies of harmonization of their interests. Authors also argue that the current process of aviation companies’ consolidation may reflect the future model of global economy, conducive for concluding monopolistic and oligopolistic deals between the main business-actors.Pozycja Innovation Determinants of Social and Economic Cohesion in the European Union(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2008-06) Fedirko, OleksandrThe main idea of the article is to research a shift of the EU social-and-economic developmental model towards a more liberal one, oriented towards strengthening the entrepreneurial base as well as fostering investment in innovations and human capital, building the knowledge based economy. Author’s standpoint is supported by the analysis of reasons indicating the downturn in the EU international competitiveness due to the gap in productivity and innovation capacity. Accent is placed on the Lisbon strategy implementation and its re-launch as the main instrument of social-and-economic reform. In the end conclusions concerning the affect of the abovementioned shifts upon the social-and-economic cohesion within the EU are drawn.Pozycja Strategic priorities of modernization of Ukrainian economy in after-crisis period(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2012) Fedirko, OleksandrThe article is a continuation of the author’s research, “Compensation model of economic growth of Ukraine”, published in the monograph “Convergence of Economic Models of Poland and Ukraine” (Krakow, 2009). The article explores trends of the economic development of Ukraine in the time of global economic and financial crisis (2008–2011). The influence of the crisis is regarded as a possibility to unveil the weaknesses of national economic system. Author argues that short-term economic recovery of Ukraine in 2010 is built on very uncertain drivers. Therefore economic policies need to be revised. Author comprehends a number of key drawbacks in order to work out strategic priorities of modernization of Ukrainian economy in after-crisis period.
