This paper presents a review of scientific studies analyzing the biological properties of different species of Cistus sp. Materials and methods. Forty papers that discuss the current research of Cistus sp. as phytotherapeutic agent were used for this discussion. Literature analysis. The results of scientific research indicate that extracts from various species of Cistus sp. exhibit antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, cytotoxic and anticancer properties.
