Pozycja Krawiec wśród literackich wykrojów i wzorów(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2018) Wilk-Krzyżowska, EmiliaPublication of “Prose: shapes and patterns” depicts the author Jerzy Jarzębski as a tailor, showing literary shapes and patterns (forms) of works, thus creating his own literary map of Polish literature in the 20th and 21st century. Jarzębski focuses on the world of values, problems with the past, most popular topics and interviews, the aim of which is to depict the reader that there is no one ideal canon of literature. Each of us can create it ourselves, which the author encourages.Pozycja Ludzie i miasto w prozie dwudziestolecia międzywojennego z perspektywy współczesnej lektury (na przykładzie utworów Tadeusza Rittnera, Mieczysława Smolarskiego i Brunona Jasieńskiego)(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2018) Wikarska, EmiliaThe article is an attempt to answer the question if are the pictures of the cities presented in the novels: “Palę Paryż” by Bruno Jasieński, “Miasto Światłości” by Mieczysław Smolarski and “Między nocą a brzaskiem” and “Duchy w mieście” by Tadeusz Rittner current. Selected issues from the sociology of the city have been used in this thesis. Relevant examples from the novels along with specific quotes are associated to particular aspects of the urbanization and determinants of the “urban lifestyle”. Attention is directed to the fragments which can be referred to present day to confront them with the latest phenomena and to show if are these novels in some way current or not.Pozycja Metodologia śledztwa w poszukiwaniu biografii Jerzego Siewierskiego(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2021) Kościelniak, MilenaThe history of literature, like human memory, can be as selective as it is unreliable, which means that many authors of every epoch disappear into the darkness of oblivion. A researcher’s task is to restore the memory of those whose works he or she finds valuable or interesting enough to want to study. The present text deals with Jerzy Siewierski, a largely forgotten writer of post-war Poland and a silent co-founder of the flagship magazine “Współczesność,” in an attempt to reconstruct the biography of the Warsaw-based writer. This work on restoring Siewierski is carried out using methods close to those used by readers of detective novels – after all, the writer himself became famous for them in communist Poland. Thus, we study archival traces, i.e. the traces left by the author himself as well as those that were left by him without his will. Parallel to the archival research, witnesses so people who knew Siewierski and remember him, are being “interviewed”. What emerges from these interviews is a perverse, intelligent, and interesting figure, both significant and in the shadow of the great revolutions. Interestingly, certain elements of the writer’s self-creation allow us to look for subtle connotations with the father of the detective novel, Arthur Conan DoyleThese observations are all the more interesting and valuable for literary research because no comprehensive study of Jerzy Siewierski has been written before, and most information about him comes from the Siewierski family archives, conversations with his relatives, and memorabilia left by the writer.Pozycja Oko Innego w powieści Niskie Łąki Piotra Siemiona(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2015) Pasterski, JanuszPiotr Siemion’s novel 'Niskie łąki' (2000) has been acknowledged by the critics as one of the most interesting texts depicting the experience of the generation of young Poles during the political breakthrough in the 1980s and 1990s. The author focuses on the Polish path to capitalism and deconstructs the key myths of that period, namely the experience of martial law, emigration for work and the birth of the free market. The paper discusses the multidimensional structure of the novel and stresses the role of the main character as the Other (the Other One). Employing this figure allows the author to maintain a distance from the described reality and to impartially look at it from the outside. The eye of the Other seems to function as a camera recording only facts and confronting them with the ‘norm’ that is in his consciousness. From this viewpoint, no character of the novel is an unblemished man, because the reality is changing all the time and old myths are being replaced by new ones. As a result, the novel seems to be an acute image of Poland in times of change.Pozycja W poszukiwaniu spójności – o "Prozie Stanisława Czycza w perspektywie poetyki lingwistycznej" Justyny Urban(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2023-12) Julia KuffelRecenzja dotyczy analizy twórczości prozatorskiej Stanisława Czycza przeprowadzonej przez Justynę Urban. Autorka książki pokazuje tę twórczość w nowej perspektywie poetyki lingwistycznej, dzięki czemu dociera do sensów wcześniej nieodkrytych. Pozycja Za kulisami współczesnej Polski – transformacje projektu quasi-publicystycznego cyklu w najnowszych powieściach Bronisława Wildsteina(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2015) Luboń, ArkadiuszThe paper deals with the most significant thematic and stylistic changes introduced by Bronisław Wildstein in three volumes published in the last decade: 'Dolina nicości' (2008), 'Czas niedokonany' (2011) and 'Ukryty' (2012). The analytical approach employed allows us to treat these three novels as a link of one unwaveringly developed literary cycle. Interpretation of this cycle in the context of Wildstein’s journalistic texts – which were published at the same time – allows us to read the series as a comprehensive description of contemporary Polish reality, changes taking place in politics and society, as well as a diagnosis and predictions towards post-modern cultural trends.
