„Czelendżuj kejsa”, czyli kilka uwag o języku korporacji
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2018) Zahaczewska, Izabela
Corporations are large, most often international enterprises in which a lot of attention is paid to all kinds of procedures, work organization, efficiency in operation and anonymity. Employees of large companies are treated as fully convertible „cogs of machinery”, which is why these institutions arouse completely ambivalent feelings in society – for some they are almost a modern form of slavery, others associate them with continuous development, the opportunity to meet new people and foreign trips. In the face of corporate challenges, knowledge of English has become an indispensable skill. In the constantly progressing process of globalization, he penetrated permanently, mainly in the form of borrowings, also to the Polish version of corporate speech, providing the basis for creating a specific language, called korpolekt, korpomowa, poliszinglisz or ponglish. While English names of positions or areas of the company are recognized in the international environment and greatly facilitate communication, combining Polish and English words or polonizing foreign phrases often gives even comical results. The aim of this article is therefore an attempt to discuss selected characteristic features of this specific novelty and give examples of typical corporate words, phrases and abbreviations.

Eseistyka Wojciecha Gniatczyńskiego odkrywana (na nowo?). Przyczynek do badań
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2018) Zahaczewska, Izabela
The article presents the profile of one of the forgotten and underestimated writers of Polish emigration after 1939 – Wojciech Gniatczyński. The intricate history of his life is the story of a man marked by the stigma of war and the traumatic experiences of a concentration camp, and an emigrant with unfulfilled ambitions, who disappeared into the shadows of his more combatived colleagues. Discussed briefly essay writing of Gniatczyński shows him unusual erudition and a writing workshop with great artistic, aesthetic and cognitive qualities. It gives the possibility of various interpretations and urges to multifaceted research, clearly indicating that Wojciech Gniatczyński is worth rediscover today.

    „Nie lubimy robić…” Językowo-kulturowy obraz Polaka-Słowianina w tekstach piosenek hiphopowych z albumu „Równonoc. Słowiańska dusza” Witolda „Donatana” Czamary
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2017) Zahaczewska, Izabela
The aim of the article is a try to reconstruct the lingual image of a Pole-Slav (his appearance, character and personality) contained in the lyrics of hip-hop songs from the album Równonoc. Słowiańska dusza produced by Witold „Donatan” Czamara. An analysis of this fragment of the output of the hip-hop subculture is certainly one of the important elements of the lingual-cultural discourse, which allows to participate in general studies on the universal and specific features of the Polish nation, in this case contained in the language itself. Thanks to the presented songs, it becomes possible to try to answer the question about a set of features that testify to someone’s Polishness, that a some kind of person can be called a real Pole. As a result of the research, it can be concluded that the average Pole is a man with both numerous advantages and disadvantages; someone who is characterized by a profound patriotism, is proud, honorable, brave, strong, defiant and self-confident, but also prone to hate, anger and affrays. He is an extremely hospitable party-goer, who likes to drink a lot, eat well and talk, a man for all seasons, a person with a sense of humor and own opinion, who doesn’t avoid expressive, vulgar language and likes it when everything goes her way.
