Pozycja Kiemlicze pomogli. O Sienkiewiczowskich odniesieniach w prozie Karola Olgierda Borchardta(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2015) Rusin, JoannaBorn at the beginning of the 20th century, the popular Polish writer and captain of the Polish Merchant Marine, Karol Olgierd Borchardt, belonged to a generation brought up on the literary work of Henryk Sienkiewicz. "Potop" was Borchardt’s favourite novel, and Sienkiewicz his most acknowledged writer. Recalling his sailing at sea, especially in the novels "Znaczy kapitan" (1961) and "Szaman morski" (1985), Borchardt eagerly and frequently made references to characters and events from "Trylogia". Even in his unfinished book of childhood memories, "Pod czerwoną różą" (1991), published posthumously, while telling a family anecdote, Borchardt made references to Kiemlicze, known from "Potop". One may say that Borchardt remained faithful to Sienkiewicz for the rest of his life, invariably con amore referring to and citing the works of Sienkiewicz.Pozycja Maria Rodziewiczówna o swojej twórczości. Nieznana kartka pocztowa pisarki(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2017) Rusin, JoannaIn this text an unknown before postcard by M. Rodziewiczówna has been published, in which the writer briefly yet to the point spoke on the subject of the creation of female characters and love in her novels.Pozycja O różnych obliczach sławy Henryka Sienkiewicza na lekcjach języka polskiego (wybrane propozycje)(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2018) Rusin, JoannaThe article is divided into two parts. In the first part, based on the memories of several people and on the writer’s letters, the most well-known and surprising manifestations of Sienkiewicz’s popularity were recalled. In the second part, critical statements were quoted, from Brzozowski, to Gombrowicz and Miłosz. The above suggestions can be used in the work of a Polish teacher during classes and extramural classes.Pozycja Okulary Traugutta. Z dziejów przedmiotu i motywu literackiego(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2016) Rusin, JoannaRomuald Traugutt was short-sighted. He wore glasses from his early years until the last moments of his life. A moment before the execution, he took them off and threw them on the ground. They had survived their owner – today they are kept in the Licheń sanctuary. The motif of Romuald Traugutt’s glasses is a frequent and important component of his literary legend. It appears multiple times in literature – from "Gloria Victis" by Eliza Orzeszkowa to the poem "Gest" ["Gesture"] by Stanisław Grochowiak.Pozycja Refleksje Karola Olgierda Borchardta o zawodzie nauczyciela (listy pisarza do „Zosi”)(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2012) Rusin, JoannaKarol Olgierd Borchardt (1905-1986) was a captain of ocean going navigation, a writer and a teacher. He started his teaching job during World War II in England where taught in and directed Maritime Gymnasium and Grammar School in Landywood. In 1953-1978 he lectured (mainly astronavigation) at Gdynia Maritime University. He was a unique and even charismatic teacher. He did not punish his students, rarely gave bad marks, he always treated his pupils as subjects of the teaching process, in a way that could be described as ‘fatherly-facetious’ manner. This outline comprises unpublished Borchardt’s letters in which the writer expressed his thoughts on the most difficult, according to him, profession – the profession of a teacher.Pozycja „Sienkiewiczologowanie”. O Sienkiewiczowskich odniesieniach w powieściach Marii Pruszkowskiej(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2019) Rusin, JoannaReferences to the work of H. Sienkiewicz in the work of M. Pruszkowska (1910–1973) appear in two of her novels: “Prześlę panu list i klucz” (“I Will Send You a Letter and a Key”) (1959) and “Życie nie jest romansem, ale…” (“Life Is not a Love Affair, but…”) (1964). The former depicts the fate of a book-loving Warsaw family in the 1930s. The parents and two daughters constantly use quotations in their conversations, which come from their favourite novels, most often from the Trilogy. The sisters make their lives theatrical by impersonating literary characters and competing in the best possible knowledge of Sienkiewicz’s texts. The other novel shows the same family during the Second World War. In the conditions of occupation, references to the favourite fragments of the Nobel Prize winner’s works often gain new and surprising significance. The literary excitement of Pruszkowska’s characters is analogous to the experiences of successive generations of Polish readers.
