Nieoswojone strategie interpretacyjne biografii i twórczości Brunona Schulza

Abstract

U podstaw pracy znajduje się teza, zgodnie z którą dotychczas zarówno biografia, jak i twórczość literacka autora „Sklepów cynamonowych” najczęściej prezentowane były przy pomocy strategii interpretacyjnych, jakie można określić mianem „oswojonych”, tj. znanych, ugruntowanych w schulzologii, niejednokrotnie też gromadzących licznych kontynuatorów. Diagnoza ta stała się punktem wyjścia do podjęcia próby ukazania strategii nieoswojonych – funkcjonujących w dostępnym piśmiennictwie w zalążku, niewyzyskanych pod względem tkwiącego w nich potencjału interpretacyjnego, a jednocześnie istotnych dla złożonego procesu odkrywania życia artysty i jego spuścizny. Rozdział pierwszy, pt. „Reprezentatywne paradygmaty interpretacyjne twórczości”, przedstawia główne kierunki odczytań dzieła autora „Wiosny”. Kolejny rozdział, „Strategia demitologizacji biograficznej”, dotyczy skomplikowanego zagadnienia, jakim jest biografia Schulza, obrosła w gros mitów. Rozdział trzeci, pt. „Strategia epistolograficzna”, poświęcono korespondencji pisarza. Ze względu na to, że dotąd namysł nad nią umykał zainteresowaniom schulzologów, rozpoznano tu podstawowe problemy związane z jej badaniem. Ostatni rozdział, „Strategia antropologiczna”, dotyczy twórczości literackiej artysty. Eksponuje występowanie w opowiadaniach Schulza powiązanego wzajemnie zespołu tematów, jakimi są: kalectwo, starość i śmierć.This paper hypothesizes that the biography and literary output of Bruno Schulz have so far tended to be presented through interpretative strategies that can be described as “tame”, which is to say well-known and well-established in schulzology, and which have also garnered a substantial following over the years. This diagnosis became the motivation to shed more light on the other, untamed strategies – those functioning in the literature in embryo, unexploited in terms of their interpretative potential, and yet essential to the complex process of discovering the artist's life and legacy. Chapter one, “Representative interpretative paradigms of creativity”, outlines the main directions of interpretation of Bruno Schulz’s oeuvre, whereas chapter two, “The strategy of biographical demythologization”, deals with the author’s complicated and myth-enshrouded biography. Chapter three, “Epistolographic strategy”, focuses on the correspondence of the author of “The Street of Crocodiles”, and since reflection on it appears to have largely escaped the attention of schulzologists, this is where the basic issues related to its study were identified. The last chapter, “Anthropological strategy”, concerns the author’s literary oeuvre, exposing the existence of mutually intertwined themes throughout Schulz’s stories, namely: disability, old age, and death.
