Niniejszy artykuł skupia się na handlu ludźmi w państwach afrykańskich od początków XX wieku do współczesności. Autorzy zwracają uwagę na podłoże historyczne problemu handlu ludźmi w wybranych państwach kontynentu afrykańskiego. Ponadto poruszane są również zagadnienia związane z analizą pierwszych regulacji prawnych dotyczących zarówno historycznych aktów normatywnych, jak i współcześnie obowiązujących w zakresie przeciwdziałania handlowi ludźmi. Autorzy wskazują i analizują wybrane akty prawne mające na celu współpracę międzynarodową w omawianej materii. W artykule podejmowane są także zagadnienia związane z prawną definicją handlu ludźmi na poziomie prawa międzynarodowego, a także pracy przymusowej. Co więcej, w treści artykułu została omówiona rola i ustawodawstwo Międzynarodowej Organizacji Pracy. Niniejsza praca analizuje także regulacje związane z prawem karnym międzynarodowym w kwestii handlu ludźmi.

This paper deals with the problem of trafficking in human beings in African countries from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. The authors of this text draw attention to the historical background concerning human trafficking in selected countries of the African continent. Moreover, they undertake contemporary reflections regarding this problem. In this work, issues related to the analysis of the first legal regulations concerning both historical normative acts and those currently in force in the field of preventing human trafficking are also discussed. Furthermore; the authors indicate and analyze selected legal acts aimed at international cooperation in the area of the discussed matter. This work deals with issues related to the legal definition of trafficking in human beings at the level of international law, as well as forced labor. Moreover, the content of the article discusses the role and legislation of the International Labor Organization in the context of the above-mentioned problem. This work also deals with and analyzes the regulation related to international criminal law in the field of human trafficking.
