Tendencje zmian zatrudnienia w sektorze usług w Polsce na tle krajów Unii Europejskiej

W artykule przedstawiono rozwój sektora usług w Polsce w okresie przemian gospodarczych oraz wpływ integracji z UE na ten proces. W krajach wysoko rozwiniętych największy udział mają zatrudnieni w sektorze usług, następnie w przemyśle, a najmniej zatrudnionych jest w sektorze rolnictwo. Mniej korzystna jest sytuacja w Polsce, gdzie nadal występuje wysoki udział zatrudnionych w rolnictwie. W latach 1989–2007 zatrudnienie w sektorze usług wzrosło o 26%. Należy jednak podkreślić, że tempo wzrostu udziału sektora usług w Polsce w stosunku do krajów wysoko rozwiniętych jest niskie, ale stopniowo zjawisko to ulega zmianie.

The article examines the development of the service sector in Poland during postcommunism period as well as the influence of EU integration on this process. In developed countries, the highest rate of employment is in the services sector followed by the industry while the least is in the agriculture. The Polish situation is least favourable as a large percentage of the population is still employed in agriculture. Employment in the services sector rose by about 26% during the period 1989–2007. It is worthy of note that although the rate of growth in employment in Poland’s services sector is low when compared to advanced countries, the trend is however changing for the better.
