Pola społeczne artystek i artystów sztuk wizualnych w województwie podkarpackim

Abstract

Przedmiotem rozprawy jest proces konstruowania koncepcji artysty i sztuki w polu działań artystek i artystów sztuk wizualnych zamieszkujących województwo podkarpackie. Głównym jej celem jest odpowiedź na pytanie, jak przebiega proces społecznej konstrukcji sztuki, artysty i wspólnoty artystycznej w polu działań artystów sztuk wizualnych. Praca dostarcza odpowiedzi na szereg pytań dotyczących szczegółowych aspektów wspomnianego procesu, mianowicie: Którzy aktorzy i w jakim charakterze uczestniczą w ważnych dla pola procesach? Kto posiada legitymację do konstruowania prawomocnych definicji artysty i sztuki w badanym polu? Jakie wartości są angażowane w procesy konstrukcji? Jakie działania i interakcje aktorzy wówczas podejmują? Jakie znaczenia przypisują owym działaniom i interakcjom? W rozprawie wykorzystane zostały założenia interakcjonizmu symbolicznego, konstruktywizmu oraz koncepcje teoretyczne Victor Turner, Jeffrey Alexander, Pierre Bourdieu and Niklas Luhmann. Niniejsza praca jest wynikiem trwających blisko cztery lata badań, prowadzonych wśród artystek i artystów sztuk wizualnych zamieszkujących województwo podkarpackie, w których użyto metod jakościowych, w tym założeń teorii ugruntowanej.The subject of the dissertation is the process of constructing the concept of an artist and art in the field of activities of visual artists living in the Podkarpackie Province. Its main goal is to answer the question of how the process of social construction of art, artist and artistic community proceeds in the field under study. The work provides answers to a number of questions regarding the specific aspects of this process, namely: Which actors and to what extent participate in processes crucial for the field? Who is authorised to construct valid definitions of an artist and art in the studied field? What values are involved in these processes? What actions and interactions do the actors take then? What meanings do they attribute to these activities and interactions? The dissertation uses the assumptions of symbolic interactionism, constructivism and the theoretical concepts of Victor Turner, Jeffrey Alexander, Pierre Bourdieu and Niklas Luhmann. It is the result of nearly four years of research conducted among visual artists living in the Podkarpackie Province, in which qualitative methods were used, including the assumptions of the grounded theory.
