Niniejsza dysertacji omawia funkcjonowanie Kuratorium Okręgu Szkolnego Lwowskiego wraz z podległymi mu rodzajami szkolnictwa w latach 1921-1939. Zostały tu przedstawione procesy, jakie zaszły w aparacie szkolnym po uzyskaniu niepodległości przez Polskę na obszarze obejmującym zakres działania początkowo Rady Szkolnej Krajowej, a następnie Kuratorium OSL. Praca doktorska omawia podstawy prawne, na których oparło swoje funkcjonowanie KOSL, a także przedstawia jego strukturę, zasięg terytorialny oraz dokonuje scharakteryzowania podległego mu szkolnictwa powszechnego, zawodowego i średniego wraz z wykazaniem zmian, jakie zachodziły w tej sferze na przestrzeni lat międzywojennych. Praca porusza również kwestię podejmowanych działań mających na celu likwidację różnic pozaborowych i unifikację szkolnictwa pod względem organizacyjnym i programowym w pierwszych latach funkcjonowania. Dana dysertacja traktuje także o sukcesach i porażkach oraz roli kuratorów i pozostałego aparatu urzędniczego zatrudnionego w KOSL. Niniejsza praca składa się ze wstępu, pięciu merytorycznie powiązanych ze sobą rozdziałów, zakończenia, aneksu i bibliografii. Rozdział pierwszy, jest rozdziałem wprowadzającym omawiającym funkcjonowanie i przemiany zachodzące w Radzie Szkolnej Krajowej. Rozdział drugi dotyczy zasięgu terytorialnego, uwarunkowania prawnego oraz struktury Kuratorium OSL. W kolejnych trzech rozdziałach omówione zostały kwestie związane ze szkolnictwem na różnych poziomach kształcenia. Po zasadniczej części pracy znajduje się obszerny Aneks zawierający akty prawne oraz tabele. Materiały te, choć nie znalazły się w podstawowej części dysertacji stanowią integralną całość tekstu, w znacznej mierze uzupełniając informacje zawarte w poszczególnych rozdziałach.

My dissertation discusses role of the Superintendent of Lviv School District and educational institutions established in Galicia, 1921-1939. The study shows the work of the National Schooling Council and the Superintendent of Lviv School District, in the education area. The dissertation explores the legal regulations of Superintendent of Lviv School District and presents its structure and territorial scope. The thesis talks about different levels of education - primary, vocational and secondary - that were subordinated to the Superintendent, and indicates changes that have occurred in this area in the Interwar Period. The dissertation addresses the issue of the actions aimed at removing educational differences between the former Partitions of Poland and integrating the education system in the country. My thesis focuses on the role of curators and bureaucratic apparatus of Superintendent of Lviv School District, describing their successes and failures. This dissertation consists of an introduction, five conceptually related chapters, completion, appendix and bibliography. The first chapter introduces us to the functions of the National School Board. The second chapter covers the territorial scope, legislative solutions and structure of Superintendent of Lviv School District. The next three chapters discuss issues of various levels of school system. After a substantial part of the work, we find an extensive annex containing legislative documents and tables. These materials, though not included in a main text, are an integral part of dissertation and largely complement the information contained in the particular chapters.
