Analiza różnych źródeł z okresu autonomii galicyjskiej pozwala stwierdzić, że lojalizm wobec zaborcy nie był zjawiskiem powszechnym, a wielu nauczycieli dokładało wytężonych starań, aby dzieci i młodzież wychowywać w duchu ideałów patriotycznych, znających przeszłość Polski i jej bohaterów narodowych. W tym celu organizowano w szkołach uroczystości mające na celu podsycanie nastrojów patriotycznych, w których tłumnie uczestniczyła młodzież szkolna. W tekście wykorzystano wspomnienia byłych uczniów szkół galicyjskich, które ukazują patriotyczną postawę wielu nauczycieli, ich antylojalistyczne postawy wobec zaborcy austriackiego.This article concerns the problem of the creation of a servilistic system of education by Galician school teachers in relation to Austria. An analysis of various sources from the period of Galician autonomy allows us to conclude that loyalty to the partitioning powers was not a common phenomenon, and that many teachers made strenuous efforts to educate children and young people in the spirit of patriotic ideals as well as to make them familiar with Poland's past and its national heroes. To this end, ceremonies were organised in schools to foster patriotic sentiments, in which schoolchildren participated in large numbers.
