The survey was conducted on a sample of 1301 high school graduates in Przemyśl and Drohobych. The findings of the research show that more than a half of the respondents on both sides of the border take private lessons. These are taken by the students of higher social status, equipped with cultural and economic capital. The students are characterized by high educational aspirations, as they are going to apply for a prestigious university beyond the borderland and take up residence in metropolises in the future. By virtue of private lessons, the educational and life chances of middle-class youth increase.
