Jego powołanie, począwszy od roku szkolnego 2022/2023, wynika z konieczności wspierania nauczycieli w realizacji idei kształcenia włączającego. Opierając się na metodzie hermeneutyki pedagogicznej, uporządkowano wiedzę na temat statusu, zadań i obowiązków pedagoga specjalnego (poziom poznawczy), zaprezentowano opinie innych specjalistów na temat roli zawodowej pedagoga specjalnego (poziom praktyczny). Przeprowadzone analizy wskazują na potrzebę zatrudnienia pedagoga specjalnego ze względu na przydzielony mu szeroki zakres czynności diagnostycznych, edukacyjnych i terapeutycznych w kształceniu uczniów ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi.The aim of the article is to describe the role of a new specialist – a special educator – in the mainstream education system. Its establishment, starting from the 2022/2023 school year, results from the need to support teachers in implementing the idea of inclusive education. Based on the method of pedagogical hermeneutics, knowledge about the status, tasks and responsibilities of a special educator (cognitive level) was organized, and the opinions of other specialists on the professional role of a special educator were presented (practical level).
