Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu przybliżono, jak funkcjonuje ona u dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym i wczesnoszkolnym. Przedstawiono typowe objawy zaburzeń koncentracji uwagi oraz ich przyczyny, co może okazać się przydatne w ich rozpoznawaniu. Przytoczone dane potwierdzają, że nie wszystkim przyczynom będzie można zapobiec, ponieważ niektóre z nich są dziedziczone genetycznie. Starano się pokazać, że w przypadku występowania u dzieci trudności z koncentracją uwagi ważne są nie tylko starania rodziców, ale także działania nauczycieli i specjalistów. W praktyce edukacyjnej bardzo pomocne są kompetencje terapeutyczne nauczyciela, dlatego w końcowej części artykułu zaproponowano przykłady dobrych praktyk umożliwiających rozwijanie u dzieci koncentracji uwagi.The text briefly discusses psychological and pedagogical definitions of attention. Based on the literature on the subject, it gives an overview of how it functions in preschool and early school-aged children. Typical symptoms of attention deficit disorders and their causes are presented, which may prove useful in recognizing them. The data cited confirm that not all causes will be preventable, as some are genetically inherited. An attempt has been made that when children have attention difficulties, it is not only the parents’ efforts that are important, but also the actions of teachers and specialists.
