Studia i materiały nr 11/2024, s. 498-5102450-5854https://repozytorium.ur.edu.pl/handle/item/10988Celem artykułu jest omówienie kilku szczegółowych zagadnień odnoszących się do inteligencji żydowskiej w Tarnowie, przede wszystkim ukazanie wybranych przedstawicieli (m.in. rabinów, historyków, muzyków, rzeźbiarzy, adwokatów, lekarzy) związanych z miastem w różnych epokach historycznych, a także zwrócenie uwagi na strukturę tej grupy społecznej i na jej znaczenie w środowisku lokalnym. Mimo że społeczność ta była obecna przez wiele wieków w mieście, to w literaturze przedmiotu w większości można odnaleźć publikacje odnoszące się jedynie do ogólnej charakterystyki tej grupy (zwłaszcza w okresie II wojny światowej), a nie do poszczególnych osób tworzących ją w różnych okresach historii.The aim of this article is to discuss a number of specific issues related to the Jewish intelligentsia in Tarnów, primarily to show selected representatives (including rabbis, historians, musicians, sculptors, lawyers, doctors) associated with the city in different historical eras, as well as to highlight the structure of this social group and its importance in the local environment.
