The author, the newlyweds as well as the commissioners of the piece are all representatives of the bourgeoisie. In many respects, however, Mankiewicz’s poem definitely stands out among other 17th-century bourgeois wedding poems, not imitating epithalamions characteristic of „high” literature, yet introducing valuable historical, moral and epic information.polAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Międzynarodowehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/bourgeois epithalamionoccasional literature17th centuryPaweł Mankiewiczwedding poetryepitalamium mieszczańskietwórczość okolicznościowaXVII wiektwórczość weselna„Hymenaeus abo wiersz godowy” Pawła Mankiewicza na tle innych siedemnastowiecznych epitalamiów mieszczańskichPaweł Mankiewicz’s “Hymenaeus abo wiersz godowy” (“Hymenaeus, or a Mating Poem”) against Other 17th-Century Bourgeois Epithalamionsarticle10.15584/tik.2019.31
