Economy, Law, Protection(Zakład Architektury Krajobrazu, Wydział Biologiczno-Rolniczy, Uniwersytet Rzeszowski, 2018) Kołodziejczyk, PiotrNorthern Egypt was always an unusually important area for our study on the history of ancient Egyptian state. The “country of papyrus” called by Egyptians temehu, their feeder and granary, a communication centre important for contacts with Levant. Several Egyptian capitals were also located here and during the antic period the region became a centre of culture, sciences and the cradle of Coptic religion. Paradoxically, this curious area was until quite lately very poorly investigated. Even now the problems of modern Egypt related with farming activities, demographic development and industrial spread as well as with the traditional way of thinking are clearly visible in this particular important region.
- PozycjaCastles landscape in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula: the example of Castalla Castle between the 11th and 15th centuries(Zakład Architektury Krajobrazu, Wydział Biologiczno-Rolniczy, Uniwersytet Rzeszowski, 2018) Antonio, Juan; Rico, MiraCastalla Castle (Alicante, Spain), built between the 11th and 16th centuries, is one of the most outstanding fortifications in the province of Alicante, as part of al-Andalus, first, and the Kingdom of Valencia, after. The present work aims to deepen the knowledge of its landscape on a medium scale for a large part of the Middle Ages. In this way, analysing some material (archaeological) and cultural (written) sources, it has been possible to better draw the Castalla Castle landscape in the Foia de Castalla district, a geographic territory located in the north of the province of Alicante, between the 11th and 15th centuries and during two different chronocultural periods: Andalusian (11th century – 1244) and Christian (1244-1499).

- PozycjaGarden Festivals in Bolestraszyce(Zakład Architektury Krajobrazu, Wydział Biologiczno-Rolniczy, Uniwersytet Rzeszowski, 2018) Wójcik-Popek, AgnieszkaIn the previous year, the 7th Garden Festival in Bolestraszyce was already held. It is an annual event that brings together Polish garden enthusiasts and creators, teachers and young landscape architecture adepts, and even primary school representatives. Festivals have been organized since 2011 by the Arboretum and the Department of Physiography in Bolestraszyce, near Przemyśl. It has been initiated thanks to the funding from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The festival is surrounded by the substantive care of the Landscape Architecture Association, the Association of Polish Landscape Architects, the Polish Nurserymen Association and the Polish Dendrological Society. Show gardens are an unusual variety of gardens – they serve to present the latest trends in the art of space arrangement and present, popularize new plant varieties. In recent years, they have also gained a wider educational function, often referring to environmental problems or various socio-cultural issues.

It is welldeveloped and includes functional and visually interesting small architecture and botanically and aesthetically diverse vegetation. It is a showcase for the town, and its attractiveness has an impact on strengthening the treatment process and increasing tourist interest. According to the respondents, the promenade in Iwonicz Zdrój is adequately equipped with elements of small architecture and has an interesting arrangement of plants. In their opinion the current development of the space is consistent and complements the historic sanatorium architecture. This is also confirmed by field studies regarding the analysis of small architecture. Visitors to the area feel safe and rest well. The shortcomings on a fairly long walking route are the lack of sanitary installations and shade, which is particularly troublesome in the high tourist season.

Increasing health problems that modern society is struggling with, force to search for various spatial and social solutions that enable everyday use of therapy and the beneficial influence of contact with nature. Public and urban spaces available to every inhabitant of the modern city become the natural and the most obvious area of such activities. In this context, the book “Parks and therapeutic gardensis” an interesting and valuable source of multi-faceted information and design inspirations regarding the topic discussed. The guidelines contained therein for creating new spaces and the described existing gardens indicate the possibilities of revitalization of green areas, parks and city gardens, as well as inter-block spaces.
- PozycjaRural construction law and regulations in the Kamienna Valley from the 19th century till 1961. Part I(Zakład Architektury Krajobrazu, Wydział Biologiczno-Rolniczy, Uniwersytet Rzeszowski, 2018) Schäfer, BernadetaThe first part of the paper is devoted to the regulations concerning rural construction in the Valley of Kamienna River from the beginning of the 19th century till the end of the First World War. In this period, the regulations that were probably of the greatest importance were issued by the Governmental Commission of Revenue and Treasury of the Sandomierskie Province, which were binding for the villages of government estate. Research into the forms and technical solutions in the constructions from the second half of the nineteenth century, supported by archival documents prove that some aspects of these provisions were closely observed, while implementing others faced considerable difficulties. Unambiguous determination of the extent to which these regulations affected the development of the rural construction of the region is not possible due to the small number of preserved objects from the period preceding their introduction. Certainly, the existence of objects meeting the requirements of these regulations can be confirmed from the moment they became binding.

Its purpose is to offer a survey on a central issue: which spatial frames of reference influence or justify the choices of LAGs in the definition and delimitation of local development spaces. The paper is about the case of Sicily, presenting some possible interpretations of an evolution of the development space from “institutional space” to “space of resources and vocations”. The paper will highlight the relation between the spaces of natural parks and the spaces of LAGs in the Participatory Local Development Strategies.
