The article discusses using art therapy in education, in particular while working with pupils with special educational needs. Starting this discussion is a point of departure to answer the question about the specific nature of art therapy in this area of practice and research. It is important inasmuch as it can serve to create programs of art therapy studies which should include themes from special needs education understood as education of people threatened with social exclusion. The author indicates three basic challenges of art therapy in education: knowledge and understanding of children’s/pupils’ diagnoses, using diverse artistic means, using evaluation tools. She illustrates this with three examples of art therapy projects prepared by art therapy students.

W artykule podjęto problem istotny z punktu widzenia edukacji inkluzyjnej dzieci ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi, odnoszący się do wykorzystania w edukacji nowatorskich propozycji, sposobów pracy z uczniami ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi w szkole masowej. Autorka prezentuje teoretyczne uzasadnienia, argumentuje zasadność wykorzystywania atrakcyjnych propozycji pracy edukacyjnej z uwzględnieniem specjalnych potrzeb i możliwości, ale i ograniczeń uczniów ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi. Badania własne potwierdzają szczególne znaczenie wprowadzanych do edukacji inkluzyjnej metod i nowatorskich strategii dla dokonywania pozytywnych zmian w rozwoju i zaspokajaniu specjalnych potrzeb.

Nowe technologie są dziś nieodłączną częścią życia dzieci. Badania naukowe wskazują zarówno na pozytywne i negatywne skutki ich użytkowania – także w pracy z dziećmi o specjalnych potrzebach edukacyjnych. Terapeuci, nauczyciele czy rodzice z entuzjazmem korzystają z gier edukacyjnych, programów logopedycznych i innych innowacji. Niestety niewiele z nich zostało poddanych badaniom weryfikującym ich skuteczność. Artykuł zawiera krótki przegląd wyżej wymienionej problematyki.
Selected Methods in the Process of Teaching a Chronically Ill Child at the Early School Stage

The article discusses the definitions and models of chronic disease, and lists examples of diseases that are considered chronic diseases and fit into the classification of students with special educational needs. The role of chronically ill student in early school education and the goals that a teacher should set when working with a child are explained. The article contains considerations on selected methods of therapy for a child with a chronic disease.
Specjalne potrzeby edukacyjne dzieci i dorosłych – wyzwania i konsekwencje dla polityki oświatowej i społecznej

The aim of the article is to analyze the situation of people with special educational needs in the context of the education process, professional work, as well as social life, which is a challenge for contemporary education and social policy. The article can be treated as a theoretical review, where the following issues are analyzed; subject literature, research reports, legal acts of the education system, statistical data, legislative solutions in Poland and selected European countries, and the proposed models of help and support. The result of analysis is a deepening the educational and social diagnosis of and reflection on the direction of change.
