A graduate in the labour market – a partnership for problem solving
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2015) Łagowska-Cebula, Monika
Finishing education and entering the labour market is a key step in the life of every young person. At this point the individual departs from their well-known environment. In this environment many convictions are acquired and strategies to handle the requirements of the system are learnt. Even though these strategies do not always lead to the development of the individual, they give them a sense of security. These mechanisms probably become automated and cease to be a cause of stress (Rożnowski 2009: 21). The labour market, however, is a new environment which can cause some anxiety and lead to many stressful situations. The individual must find their feet in an environment where the consequences of failure to fulfil certain obligations can result in a significantly higher penalty than in the education system. The labour market consists of potential employees capable and willing to work and employers willing to hire workers (Szaban 2013: 15) and that is why, the lack of diligence and punctuality as well as the neglect of duty result in loss of employment and subsequent exclusion from that environment. Certainly, at certain stages of education, like for instance university, students can also be threatened with expulsion, but before it actually happens they have many more opportunities to rehabilitate themselves than most employees in the labour market. The labour market conditions which are encountered by young people are also important because they directly contribute to their living situation. Young adults who live with their parents are considered to be lazy and unwilling to rise to the challenge of self-reliance. However, most frequently it is the lack of financial resources to rent a flat (not to mention to purchase it) that is the reason for this situation. In 2012, the percentage of people in Poland aged 18 to 34 living with their parents was 60.2% and 27 – 48.1% in the EU (Central Statistical Office 2013: 11). The purpose of this article is to present the situation encountered by university graduates while seeking their first job. The present situation of the labour market in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, the assistance offered to former students by the District Employment Agency, and their opinion on this aid will be discussed.

Bezdomność rodzin - socjologiczny szkic problemu
(KUL Jana Pawła II, Lublin, 2011) Szluz, Beata
The problem of homelessness is not new, however it was only after 1989 that research regarding this issue started in Poland. Only very sparse publications connected with this subject matter appeared in preceding years. That situation was caused predominantly by the tendency to conceal the existence of certain social issues. The research related to this significant phenomenon conducted in the period of less than 20 years turned out to be extremely difficult, time and work consuming and very costly. A preliminary survey of the subject related literature showed that a research connected with family homelessness is undertaken very rarely. This phenomenon is a dangerous experience for an individual, but also the issue of family homelessness is becoming an alarming problem. Family's life is disturbed, which often leads to its disintegration. When a family faces homelessness, children are often placed in welfare institutions. Homelessness has negative impact on children's growth and education. Moreover it ruins physical and mental well being of the family members. In relation with the occurring problems, the herein article attempts an analysis of the issue of family homelessness. The analysis focused on the socio-demographic image of homeless families, causes of the problem, place of stay, ways for providing for the family, and forms of assistance for homeless families.

Development of partnership and cooperation to counteract social exclusion phenomena. To start… why partnership?
(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2015) Belcer, Agnieszka; Wojnarowska, Anna
It is easy to speak about partnership, but it is much more difficult to live it. Lately, partnership has become a strong element of our reality. The word partnership has become very fashionable and popular. It has many meanings and it includes various relationships, connections, networks and types of organisations. The idea of intersectoral partnership within the framework of which authorities representing units of local government, economic entities and third sector organisations cooperate to solve complex local and regional problems is winning many supporters. Partnerships are initiated by companies, nongovernmental organisations or public institutions and act at a local, regional, national or global level. Intersectoral cooperation rarely becomes an easy and quick solution to problems. Partnership undertakings require determination, perseverance and courage. Each party brings different experiences and skills thanks to which intersectoral co-operation can become sustainable, efficient and effective in a condition that it will be properly designed and managed. In Poland, favourable conditions for the idea of intersectoral partnership developed after 1989. There are various reasons for the creation and functioning of this form of cooperation resulting mainly from the development of a citizen society in the 1980s and 1990s and further social and political transformation. Increasing liabilities of the public finance sector resulting in searching for alternative financial resources and an implementation of patterns adopted in other European countries became further impulses for changes.

Przeciwdziałanie zjawisku bezdomności w Unii Europejskiej
    (Uniwersytet Warszawski, 2011) Szluz, Beata

Social Status of an Employee in the Context of Social Legislation
(Wydział Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2013) Barinková, Milena; Žofčinová, Vladimíra
The sustained social instability, decline of the moral values and disrespect for the natural and economic regularities in the human activity have a very adverse impact on the social conditions of people. The states, seeking for redress, extend to the measures that multiply insecurity, disturb social ties in the society, and lower the existing guarantees of the humanly dignified life. The paper aims at naming and analysing basic facts which adversely affect relations between economic and social development of the society. The Authors warn against the ignorance of respecting the reached standards of the social rights, the departure from keeping social cohesion and absolute preference for economic goals without any respect for the social needs. On the ground of labour relations of nowadays the article points on a new face of social problems based on the opinion of its Authors. They point out the hidden forms of exploitation of an employed man in the modern society, in which the elements of disrespect for the uniqueness of the human being, its education and needs occur due to the intensification of economic and financial crisis. At last the paper also analyses the balance of the principle of solidarity and merit at setting the pension scheme within the scope of the social policy implementation and points on possible impacts of it in the future. The Authors invite to a discussion on their thoughts on the social function of the social security law presented in this paper

Strategie Unii Europejskiej wobec problemu bezdomności
    (UKSW Warszawa, 2008) Szluz, Beata
Homelessness, considering the scale of the phenomenon, the complex reasons and the painful socio-economic effects of it, is a wide-spread and significant problem, which has specific regional and local conditioning. It seems right to implement various initiatives at the EU level, as well as to incorporate non-governmental organizations in the realization of programs in the field of social assistance. Despite numerous discussions, which are conducted in multi-national forums, as well as activities undertaken in individual countries, the homelessness problem still exists and can not be successfully resolved. Thus, in the present article a trial was undertaken to analyze select EU strategies aimed at implementing a concrete initiatives.

ZNACZENIE EDUKACJI DOROSŁYCH W PROCESIE REINTEGRACJI SPOŁECZNEJ I ZAWODOWEJ OSÓB BEZDOMNYCH
(Prešovska univerzita Prešov, 2010) Szluz, Beata
Scope and fast pace of implementation of some economic reforms caused appearance of many problems in Poland. Situation of this type was the reason for widening of poverty, worsening of people’s state of health and appearing of pathological behaviors. Weak resistance against difficult situations in life is, in turn, the cause for falling into the state of helplessness. People afflicted by homelessness become unable to manage by themselves, they lose their way in the surrouding reality. Thus, the issue of homelessness is of the extreme character (is the most tragic in its effects), and in consequence – of the pathological character. Education is extremely important in solving process of this social problem. It is possible to perceive two spaces where it is essential. The first one concerns the society education, that regards the individual who does not take active part in social life for the homeless one. The aim of education is to show problems of “the other one” and his/her social integration. The second educational space includes the prophylaxis and creates the possibility of social and professional reintegration of homeless people. The problem of education importance in the social and professional reintegration of homeless has been discussed in this article.
