    Images of Polish politicians on Facebook and Twitter on the example in communication strategies of Andrzej Duda and Donald Tusk

    The main purpose of shaping a specific political image is usually political pragmatism focused on gaining social and electoral support. Social media due to their specificity are an excellent space that allows politicians to self-present. The aim of the research is an attempt to construct a proposition of types of political images created in social media based on the analysis of communication strategies (including the tools used and persuasion techniques) of the two selected leading Polish politicians: Andrzej Duda and Donald Tusk. Particular attention is paid to the means of self-presentation, including the role of visual rhetoric in messages politicians on their official Facebook and Twitter accounts.

    Instagram w autoprezentacji politycznej. Analiza wizualna postów polskich kandydatów do europarlamentu w 2019 roku

    This article reviews currently available literature on the role of Instagram in political communication and reports on the results of the analysis of 1976 Instagram posts of the most active politicians during the 2019 European parliamentary election campaign in Poland. With the aid of quantitative thematic analysis and qualitative visual rhetorical analysis, we identify the main patterns of self-representation of candidates and compare the forms of visualization and typical strategies of building ethos and mobilizing the voters across parties. We prove that traditional representations of candidates (delivering speeches, canvassing, shaking hands) and national (rather than European) symbols tend to dominate. We conclude with observations on the increase in personalization of politics, professionalization of political campaigning, and strong communitarian identification.

    The purpose of this article is a linguistic analysis of the blog entries under the photos posted on the @moderncavegirl profile, which is related to the ketogenic diet. The author also has a blog: moderncavegirl.pl, where she publishes her recipes. Instagram plays the role of promoting the blog. Due to the fact that the blog entries concern food, it will be important to determine how the author promotes her blog, what linguistic means she uses for this, how she writes about food to encourage people to reach for the recipe and make us of it. The aforementioned linguistic means or constructions can be divided into those that are used to promote a blog directly or indirectly. Direct promotion of a blog applies to those constructions that are explicit incentives to visit it or that inform the recipient that the recipe can already be found on the website. Indirect promotion of the blog is related to persuasive linguistic constructions.

    The article is an attempt to outline the cognitively understood web of school genres used for self-presentation. The author is trying to answer the question of which genre takes the place of the prototype model centre and what relations occur between the genres within the web. The starting point for the literary genetics traversing in the linguistic-didactic perspective was the theory of self-presentation as well as both school and extracurricular texts that pursue specified genre patterns. The prototype is a pattern, the exemplary model of something. On the basis of the comparative studies on school genres used for self-presentation and with the help of metaphorical categories of self-presentation gene and the genotype the self-presentation genre it has been concluded that the prototype of the self-presentational genre at school is self-characteristics.
