It is very important for nurses to experience post-traumatic growth in order to protect their mental health after traumatic events such as a pandemic. The aim of this study is to determine the post traumatic growth status of infection control nurses, who play an important role in health services in the COVID-19 pandemic. Material and methods. This study is a cross-sectional, descriptive study. The study was conducted with 170 infection control nurses working in infection control committees of hospitals in Turkey. “Nurse Descriptive Information Form” and “Post Traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI)” were used as data collection tools in this study. Results. As a result of this research, the mean PTGI total score of the infection control nurses was 70.73±23.03, and it was determined that they experienced moderate growth from the sub-dimensions of the scale. Also it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the changes in philosophy of life sub-dimension scores of PTGI according to the age and marital status of the nurses. In addition, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the total PTGI scores according to the year of working as an infection control nurse and the loss of a relative of the healthcare worker due to the COVID-19 disease. Conclusion. In this study, it can be said that infection control nurses experienced a moderate post-traumatic growth after the COVID-19 pandemic. Age, marital status, working year and loss of a healthcare worker friend during the pandemic period seem to affect nurses’ post-traumatic growth. It is very important to determine the mental health of infection control nurses working on the front lines in the pandemic.Pozycja Legal Regulation of the Occupational Health and Safety in the Non – Standard Work in The Slovak Republic(Wydział Prawa i Administracji Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2018-06) Seilerová, MonikaAs it is typical for the current world of work, employees often perform dependent work in forms that are not standard. They are characterized by the specificities of the legislation, including working conditions. When using the term non-standard work, we follow the definition of the International Labour Organization. For the purpose of this paper, we may regard especially these forms: work from home, teleworking, temporary agency work and work performed on the basis of contracts for work performed outside the employment relationship as an institute typical for Slovak (but also Czech) labour law. The aim of the paper is to analyze the legal regulations on health and safety at work in the Slovak Republic, in the context of the mentioned forms of dependent work. We will attempt to investigate the effectiveness of the current legal regulation, including some theoretical and application problems. We will also focus on assessing the impact of non-standard work on the physical and mental health of employees and on the possibilities of managing the factors of this work by the employer.Pozycja Preservation of Mental Health of Children and Teenagers(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2017) Usenkova, EkaterinaIn this article the author analyzes the importance of mental health for juvenile offenders and offers concrete ways to strengthen it.Pozycja Psychological and neurodevelopmental implications of the COVID-19 pandemic in children and adolescents – a review of research and reports(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2022-12) Frączek, PaulinaThe COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of people all over the world, including children and adolescents. Despite various clinical images of infection and potential long-term effects of it, there is a wide range of psychological implications resulting from stress, anxiety, and a feeling of helplessness rooted in containment measures and lockdowns. Children and adolescents, as a special group, need determined conditions to develop and learn. Proper development depends on contact with peers, a regular daily schedule, setting new challenges, and, above all, a sense of security that adults should provide. In the time of the global pandemic, these requirements are very difficult to meet. Consequently, we observe an increase in the frequency of appearance of mental disorders in the youngest groups. The article presents current data on the number and type of disorders described in children and adolescents associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, proposed diagnostic tools for these disorders, and recommendations for the management of a child in need of psychological intervention. The problem of neurodevelopmental disorders in children born during the pandemic is also shown. The article uses available, selected scientific studies and data from national and international reports.
