League of Polish Families (LPR) achieved great political success against other national parties in 3rd Republic of Poland. The party had representatives in the Polish parliament and government, European Parliament and Voivodeship sejmiks. This success was a result of their political programme, exposing sovereign national policy and consolidation of different parties of Polish national right. Defeat of LPR was caused by ideological and personal conflicts amongst the party’s leaders and between central management and local structures. Those problems led to internal divisions in party and decrease influence of LPR in Polish society.

Currently, election administration is often discussed in the mass media and is of great interest to the public. This is probably due to the recent local elections carried out on 16 November 2014, during which there was a problem among others with the election information technology system and delays in the announcement of the results of the vote. The objective is to assess certain issues of the regional electoral commissions, their mode of appointment, composition, organisation of work, position in the composition and tasks of these committees, which are involved in conducting all forms of elections. The article analyzes the solutions adopted in the Polish electoral law for regional electoral commissions, as well as containing conclusions and recommendations. This is important in view of the ongoing legislative work on the amendment to the Electoral Code of 2011.
Political Marketing, or how to win elections?

The subject of the presented article is the problem of political marketing as a way to electoral victory. Marketing, promotion and advertising are useful instruments for achieving political goals. The ability to apply these means in practice is an expression of growing professionalism in the field of political knowledge. Marketing instruments are useful not only during election campaigns, but also in the everyday activities of political leaders, social institutions, political parties, trade unions and other participants in political life. This may concern the design and practical application of various political strategies, creating the image of a politician of a newly established political organisation, advertising to the public the government's policy of significant importance for the state or promoting the image of a country, city or region . In recent decades, election campaigns have taken on a permanent character, not being limited as before to the closed periods immediately preceding voting. Thus, knowledge of marketing has become more important in the political environments of modern countries. The adaptation of professional marketing techniques to the sphere of political action and the use of the potential of modern media have significantly influenced the way politics is conducted. The goals, methods and strategy of a political campaign are, in a sense, determined by the audience and the media. The American campaign model has become a model for many countries, especially those – like Poland – which have embarked on the path of democratic transformation after 1989.
Polityczne zaangażowanie mniejszości polskiej na Litwie po wyborach parlamentarnych 2012 roku

The article presents an analysis of the activities undertaken by Poles in Lithuania following the parliamentary election of 2012. The Polish minority took an active part in the Lithuanian politics. Związek Polaków na Litwie [The Union of Poles in Lithuania] followed by Akcja Wyborcza Polaków na Litwie [Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania] presented their programs for the coming elections. Their involvement in the Lithuanian politics at the national level enabled them to articulate issues important for the Polish community in Lithuania. AWPL participated in the governing coalition. The political circumstances made their proposed solutions not easy to implement. Some problems were temporarily resolved, while most of the important issues remained under discussion. The analysis is based on various documents: agreements, treaties, declarations, statements. Also, it uses press material available in the Internet editions.
Stabilizacja za wszelką cenę? Negocjacje koalicyjne po wyborach parlamen-tarnych w 2005 roku

The article presents the political situation in Poland after the 2005 Polish parliamentary elections and describes key points of the political program of Law and Justice, which was titled “Czwarta Rzeczpospolita”. The elections in 2005 were won by Law and Justice, a conservative party, who were led by Jarosław Kaczyński. Civic Platform occupied second place. Both parties wanted to cooperate in creating a majority coalition in the lower House of Parliament but the victory of Law and Justice and the troubled negotiations along with the triumph of Lech Kaczyński in the presidential election brought an end to the collaboration between these parties. The victorious party had to look for a partners to govern among the remaining parties. Eventually, the chiefs of Law and Justice decided to sign a stabilization pact with League of Polish Families and Self Defense Party. The agreement, signed in February 2006, did not bring about an end to the crisis of politics in Poland, therefore political leaders decided to announce an early election in 2007.
Ważność aktów prawnych wydanych przez Parlament w przypadku stwierdzenia nieważności wyborów

Celem niniejszej pracy było ukazanie w jaki sposób dokonywana jest w Polsce kontrola legalności wyborów do Sejmu i Senatu oraz przedstawienie bytu aktów prawnych wydanych przez wadliwie obsadzony Parlament. Główną metodą badań przyjętą w tej pracy była analiza wyroków polskich sądów ze względu na niewielki zasób tekstów doktryny w tym temacie. Po przeanalizowaniu źródeł autor artykułu wskazał tezy, dotyczące ważności aktów prawnych i stwierdził, że akty wydane przez Parlament w okresie od ukonstytuowania do wydania postanowienia Sądu Najwyższego są ważne, oraz drugą tezę dotyczą zrównania terminów na pierwsze posiedzenie nowego parlamentu oraz terminu na wydanie postanowienia przez Sąd Najwyższy. Aktualność tematu podkreśla fakt, iż obecny rok jest rokiem wyborczym oraz brak ustawowych i doktrynalnych uregulowań tej kwestii.
Wybory parlamentarne w okresie pandemii COVID-19 na przykładzie Trynidadu i Tobago

Wybory, za pomocą których zbiorowy suweren dokonuje wyboru swoich przedstawicieli, są podstawowym sposobem kreowania składu poszczególnych organów władzy publicznej. W niniejszym artykule autorzy dokonali analizy przebiegu, a także skutków wyborów do Izby Reprezentantów przeprowadzonych 10 sierpnia 2020 r. w Trynidadzie i Tobago podczas światowej pandemii COVID-19. Wskazano również na liczne budzące niepokój wydarzenia, które dla współczesnych państw demokratycznych są sygnałem ostrzegawczym. Analiza prowadzi do konkluzji, że wybory przeprowadzone na Trynidadzie i Tobago ze względu na nietypową kampanię wyborczą można uznać za szczególne.

The electoral system plays an important role in the process of the determining of the election results. It enables the distribution of the seats among the competing electoral committees, and it affects the balance of the political forces in the representative bodies. But the meaning of the electoral system is not limited to the electoral process. The electoral system affects also the communication of the elected people with the voters. The electoral code introduced important changes in the manner of the conduct of elections to the municipal councils. The purpose of this presentation is an attempt to analyse how much these changes may affect the reinforcement of the ties between the councillor and the voters and they may contribute to better representation of the interests of the electorate in the work of the municipal council.
