Pozycja Berlin – soczewka współczesnej Europy. Uwagi na marginesie książki Ewy Wanat „Deutsche nasz. Reportaże berlińskie”(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2019) Sukiennik, MagdalenaBerlin and the city’s inhabitants are the characters of Wanat’s reportage. The book is a collection of talks and evidence record of meetings with particular people. Every Berliner has their own story. While presenting the stories, the author spotlights the complexity of the city. The capital city, like any other metropolis, is a medley of various cultures and behaviours. The city reflects the borderline of the features which both unite and divide the society and endanger their peaceful coexistence. The border areas are particularly exposed to conflicts. For onlookers, Berlin seems to be a coherent mosaic. However, it is drastically divided. This incoherence is shown in varied characters of the districts, it is reflected in language, too. Resentments, stereotypes and generalisations add to this discrepancy. A peaceful coexistence in such a cosmopolitan hybrid city requires building an agora and bridges. They create the background to begin a dialogue. Liberal democracy helps to introduce socio-cultural structures, as well as mental patterns of perception. This prevents antagonisms in society. A lesson of tolerance averts hostility and others are not treated as if they were strangers. Learning an appropriate attitude towards the dissimilar takes a long time, and the challenge must be repeatedly undertaken if society is to remain united. From the attention that is due to the interlocutor as a person, we obtain—in the light of both the philosophy of care and the theory of politeness—a particular approach to the notion of service. This notion, made ambiguous by our modern sensitivity, receives a new reading when it is interpreted in the sense of ‗care‘. In recalling the ancient roots of the notion of person, it is revealing how much the recent relational sociology offers to conceive dialogue as a relational good, a human good that only can be made together. The conditions for reaching this specific approach are recent, even if the fundamental notions (relation, person, service, care) are rather old.Pozycja Egodokumenty mistyczek polskich w świetle teorii tekstu(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2020) Strzelecki, RyszardThe article defines the methods of analyzing ego-documents of contemporary Polish ”female-mystics”, based on the tools developed in the theory of the text. This type of research approach helps to establish ”how” the text is structured as opposed to ”what” is its semantic content and obscures it. Well, both the personality of the „female-mystics” and the course of their relations with transcendent persons are imprinted more in the structure of the text than in its content. The accounts deserve attention, as we only reflect on documents that are ”mystical” dialogues. These forms can pose the most difficulties for researchers (the diaries of Maria Faustyna Kowalska and Alicja Lenczewska were used for exemplification). Their coherence is problematic – the key distinguishing feature of the text – and its conditions: the existence of a frame, metatextual and isotopic factors, relations: mind-body, personal criteria in the phrases: ”to someone” and ”for someone” and performative properties; the linguistic view of the world (LVW) of both the author and the recipient of the text plays a special role in research strategies. In investigating the structure of the text, it is also important to capture the limit of expressing the spiritual reality. Writing ”mystical” texts is based on constant struggles, an inevitable and risky compromise between the temporal meaning and the ultimate truth, which is still unavailable for the ”mystic” or turns out to be impossible to articulate. There is a third situation where articulation is not only impossible but pointless, and it concerns people who have reached the end and experience themselves in God.Pozycja Kurz zur Pragmatik von Werbeslogans(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2017) Jílková, HanaThe paper deals with the question of the pragmatic level of advertising slogans. It focuses on the characteristics of basic acts, tactics and strategies of communication. Individual speech tactics and strategies are demonstrated with regard to printed German and Czech advertisement. Single forms of actions as assertion, presentation, question and suggestion are described more closely. Basic situational aspects of advertising slogans are mentioned and further described as monologic or dialogic.Pozycja O banalności śmierci. Azyl dla uchodźców we współczesnej sztuce(Wydział Sztuki UR, 2017-12) Sulikowska-Dejena, AgataThe aim of the article is to present the work of artists who are focused on the plight of refugees and who have made that humanitarian crisis the main theme of their projects. Their artistic intervention is characterized by a profound social involvement and a desire to build an alternative narration – sensitive to suffering, putting man in the first place and emphasizing the fact that first of all we constitute a community of humans. Contemporary art has become a symbolic shelter for the refugees and a place allowing them to regain their lost dignity. Using various media and artistic strategies, like: site-specific activities, installations, artistic interventions, graffiti, participatory art, the authors show that a dialogue is possible, that despite the fears it is possible to build a community above prejudices, whose members do not differ so much from each other. Artists confirm with practical actions that we always deal with a sensitive, suffering person, and the pain evoked by the death of the loved ones is equally excruciating on both sides of the fence. The discussed works can be analyzed in terms of aesthetic values but in order to fully understand their meaning we have to consider the content, the message to the audience, which the authors have included in the form. That is why the article attempts to show the works and the words of the artists in a broader, social and philosophical perspective.Pozycja Problem „polskości” w londyńskich pismach studenckich („Życie Akademickie” – „Kontynenty”)(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2015) Moczkodan, RafałThe first part of the text is an analysis of the category of ‘Polishness’ (its senses, understanding and functioning) with respect to emigrational youth gathered around magazines published in the United Kingdom by Polish students, and then by the literary group The Continents (Kontynenty). We show that among the basic problems connected with The Continents Group one may mention the search for the ways in which national identity could be preserved and then passed on to future generations. The definition of what refugees were supposed to do was different if we compare young emigrants and the older generation (which was shaped and gained maturity before the Second World War). The young generation was open to dialogue, but wanted to redefine the common ideas and search for new paths and means which would be useful in preserving cultural identity. Significantly, both generations were in favour of preserving Polish language and culture. As discussed in the second part of the sketch, this was related to the category of patriotism, as well as back-to-front ‘Polish national vices’. In these areas one may observe disparities between the generations; disparities which come down to the opposition: rational assessment vs. mythologization. The former allows young emigrants, who have no complexes or sense of guilt, to take advantage of the opportunities created by the countries in which they settle, and still not lose their bonds with the nation.Pozycja Stanisława Vincenza filozofia współistnienia w perspektywie powojennych stosunków polsko-żydowskich(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2017) Czarnik, MirosławThe text considers the possibility of functioning of the philosophy of coexistence supported by Stanisław Vincenz the author of „Na wysokiej połoninie” („On the high meadow”) in the perspective of postwar Polish-Jewish relations. He does that in reference to widely treated historical context (from the 1940s up to the present times) noting that postwar Polish-Jewish relations are of extremely complex character and are realized between selfless friendship, at times even heroism and xenophobia and aggressive antisemitism. The text also mentions the criteria of strangeness/hostility and familiarity functioning between both nations. The conclusion of the text is a well-argumented statement that in the present Polish reality practical realization of Vincenz’s philosophy showing equality and equality of values in mutual interethnic relations is difficult, however, in the future perspective and „long lasting” (understood in accordance with the intention of Ferdinand Braudel) is not impossible and desired indeed.Pozycja Sztuka młodych jako przestrzeń dialogu wewnętrznego. Refleksje na temat pewnej tendencji w trzech krótkich wspomnieniach(Wydział Sztuki UR, 2018-12) Pokrywka, PrzemysławThe Solvay Cracow Center for Contemporary Art is a culture institution promoting young artists. In the past decade it has exhibited a few dozen projects by students and graduates of art academies. The wide range of interests and characters has created a colorful mosaic of artistic stances. It is against this background that the author of this article presents three artists, who, due to their intellect and talent, are intriguing art personalities. They are not anonymous in the younger generation of Polish art, however they seem to be staying on its sidelines. The author presents Michał Marek, an artist connected with Wrocław, who has exhibited a collection of incomplete, crisscrossed paintings – evidence of a crisis an artist faces on his way. The article also presents Arkadiusz Andrejkow, who in the fall of 2012 showed in the Centre a painting exhibition titled “Family matters”, inspired by photographs found in an old wardrobe. Faced with images of his nearest and dearest, cultivating the memory of his relatives, Andrejkow provokes the viewer into a deeper reflection on the problem of transition and one’s own identity, often difficult in a historical context. The third artist is Kamil Kuzko, who consciously rejects current trends and fashions. In his works one can see a whole range of solutions reminiscent of Orthodox icons and frescoes. Of special interest is his schematic presentation of male faces, many of tchem being the artist’s self-portraits, whose form is modeled on the art of Eastern Church.Pozycja The Use of Social Media by Local Government Units to Communicate with Stakeholders(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2016) Kuźniar, Wiesława; Szopiński, WiesławThe article presents trends in marketing communication of local government units, with particular emphasis on the role of social media. In recent years territorial units observe a gradual enrichment (and sometimes replacement) of a model of interpersonal communication and mass communication model by a marketing communication model in a hypermedia computing environment. One-to-one relationships and one-to-many relationships are therefore supplemented by many-to-many relationships. In light of these changes, which are related to the process of virtualisation, the classic forms of promotion such as advertising, personal promotion, sales promotion and public relations are enriched with new types of marketing communications, among which an increasingly important role is played by social media. All of the 30 biggest Polish cities have their own profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare, and as many as 97% on Google+. Local government units use social media not only to run official profiles of cities, but they also create accounts on individual projects or events associated with unit’s functioning. Apart from official portals, a trend is observed to create informal ones, initiated by portal users of a given territory. While in the first case, the representatives of units have unlimited influence on the content presented, informal portals give little opportunities of influence to authorities. The study of 223 students of University of Rzeszow have shown that young people are not really interested in social networks as the forms of communication of their local government units with residents. They also show moderate interest in a website of their city / municipality. To counteract this trend, the presented content should be more attractive, encouraging residents to engage in dialogue and establish relationships with local authorities.Pozycja Współczesne znaczenie metafizyczno-religijnej koncepcji prawa naturalnego. Analiza krytyczna(Autor, 2016) Wójtowicz, RyszardСтатья представляет собой критический анализ метафизическо-религиозной доктрины естественного права. Тезисы этой доктрины можно выразить следующим образом: духовная жизнь разных культурных традиций желает проявлять себя и воплощаться «в свете высшей правды и абсолютного добра». Тем самым, естественное право должно являться основой аутентичных и абсолютных (христианских) ценностей, гарантируя «аутентичный» диалог различных культур и религий. Однако, классификация теорий, касающихся естественного права, показывает его сложность; исторические критерии переплетаются с методологическими, а закон естественного права полон не только философского и политического содержания, но даже идеологического и мировоззренческого. Поэтому нет согласия на нераздельное понимание естественного права, равно как нет однозначного ответа на вопрос об его функциях и социально-культурном значении. В связи с вышеупомянутым, нам кажется, что для того, чтобы естественное право могло стать основой межкультурного и религиозного диалога, оно должно быть «ценностью», свободной от морали (имморальной), основанной на добродетели ответственности и предвидения, а не на заимствовании и трансформации или же quasi «новом взгляде» на «Великие Ценности».
