The article focuses on the meditative aspect of Juliusz Słowacki’s spiritual transformation and discusses the fruits of his meditative attitude. The poet’s correspondence became the main research material in the deliberations and findings. The work analyses successively such qualities and derivatives of the poet’s meditative lifestyle as: inner joy and delight, submission to God’s drawing action, spiritual indifference, but also such actions and activities, the specificity and essence of which turn out to be the result of a meditative act. By isolating and examining these particular effects of the act of meditation, we once again agree to the research opinion of Ewa Szczeglacka-Pawłowska that the poet fully deserves to be called homo meditans. The poet’s spiritual transgression has been described many times, however, placing it in the light of meditation allows us to extract new meanings from the issue.

The article focuses on the poetry and epistolary writings of Adam Szyper (1939–2015). It consists of six parts dealing with: the importance of Jewish memory in the author’s poetry (part 1), three important places (genius loci) in his work: Poland, Israel and the United States (parts 2–4), his returns to Israel (Aliyah) and departures from there (Yoredah), documented in his correspondence (part 5). Part 6, the final part of the article, is a summary, where an attempt is made to determine the status of Szyper in those contexts on the basis of voices of literary criticism.
Nowa książka o Pigoniu. Słowo autora

In his book on Stanisław Pigoń, the author outlines the legend of an eminent humanist, literary historian, memoirist, editor, teacher and tutor of many generations of scholars of Polish literature. The narrative is based on his own recollections (as his student) and on extensive correspondence between the professor and Ignacy Chrzanowski, Roman Pollak, Julian Krzyżanowski, Tadeusz Mikulski, Czesław Zgorzelski, Maria Danilewiczowa, and Bishop Ignacy Świrski. This correspondence allows us to take a closer look at the complex problems that the emerging academic milieu of scholars of Polish studies was facing in the difficult postwar times. The volume concludes with a recently uncovered source material – letters of Professor Pigoń to Bishop Świrski – which reveals the secrets of his technique as a literary analyst of Part II of "Dziady" ["Forefathers’ Eve"] by Adam Mickiewicz.
Religious issues in Galicia in the light of the correspondence of the founders of the Resurrectionists

The article examines the correspondence of Bogdan Jański, Hieronim Kajsiewicz, and Piotr Semenenko. The views of these early resurrectionists were related to the settlement plans in Galicia. They were appalled by the misconduct of the clergy and the rigid ecclesiastical etiquette that stemmed from the spirit of Josephinism. Through individual actions, preaching, religious retreats, and spiritual exercises, they aimed to overcome negative tendencies among the Galician clergy and the faithful. An important issue in the analyzed correspondence was the religious problems between the Latin and Uniate communities, as well as folk religiosity. The resurrectionists, through their influence on Greek Catholic hierarchs and their connections with the papal court, initiated a rapprochement between the two rites.

Augusta Bielowskiego i dominikanina Sadoka Barącza łączyła nie tylko przyjaźń, ale także wspólna pasja, jaką była historia. Świadczy o tym ich wzajemna korespondencja z lat 1854–1872. Niniejszy tekst to krytyczna edycja listów obu uczonych, poprzedzona wstępem i opatrzona komentarzem. Korespondencja przybliża poglądy naukowe obu historyków, ukazuje ich relacje, realia życia oraz charakteryzuje środowisko naukowe ówczesnej Galicji. Odsłania również problemy, z którymi musieli się mierzyć dwaj zaprzyjaźnieni badacze.
