This outline is a report from the Polish Scientific Conference „Jesteśmy wszędzie i nigdzie”. Twórczość literacka, translatorska, krytycznoliteracka i naukowa Andrzeja Buszy („We are everywhene and nowhere”. Literary, trnaslating, critical and scientific output of Andrzej Busza) which took place in Rzeszow on 3-4 November 2016. The aim of the conference was reflection on the literary but also translating, critical and scientific output of Andrzej Busza, an emigrant Polish poet connected with the London group “Continents”, a retired English professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, an expert in the output of Joseph Conrad, residing for many years in Canada. Among the topics discussed by the researchers there were, among others, issues of literary tradition, individual poetic style, problems and autobiography.
Ogólnopolska Interdyscyplinarna Konferencja Naukowa „Życie bez miłości jest (nie)możliwe”

On 24th and 25th of May, 2018, the Institute of Polish Studies and Journalism of the University of Rzeszów hosted the scientific conference “Life without Love is (not) possible”. The conference was organized by the employees of the Department of Methodology of Teaching Literature and Polish Language. Over forty participants from the most important academic centres from all over Poland took part in it. The speakers addressed not only general topics concerning basic types of love (agape, charis, eros, family), but also referred to more detailed, but extremely important issues, such as: aspects, features of this value depicted in literary texts, magazines or aphorisms; ways of talking about love in the statements of young people and school textbooks.

On May 24th, 2014 the University of Rzeszów hosted the conference “Stefan Chwin – Spaces of Imagination” whose honoured guests were Stefan Chwin, novelist and literary historian, and Krystyna Chwin, poet and publisher. The first part of the conference was the lecture by Professor Chwin, entitled “Great Central European deportations of the 20th century from the axiological perspective. Challenges for Literature”, whereas the second part included the meeting with the literary couple. The event was organized by the Literary Studies Section of the Academic Association of Scholars of Polish Studies and by the editorial board of the literary and artistic quarterly “Fraza”.

The article presents a longer news note on awarding the Rzeszow University Publishing House the Grand Prize of the Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań for the best university book during the 18th Poznań (not just Science) Book Days, which took place in November 2014. The Publishing House received it for a monograph in the history of literature specified in its title. The note presents the most important stages of editorial and publishing work on the awarded book and briefly describes its scholarly value.
Sprawozdanie z międzynarodowej konferencji naukowej w Wiśle „Literatura obu Ameryk II”

The report summarizes the International Academic Conference ‘Literature of Both Americas II’ (‘Literatura Obu Ameryk II’) which was held by the Faculty of Philology of the University of Silesia (Katowice) from 17 to 19 November 2014. It was the second conference of the series, which this time took place in picturesque Wisła and gathered researchers of migrant literature from both Poland and abroad. The multitude and variety of research areas presented not only supported their multidimensional exploration, but also once again showed that the issue of migrant literature in historical and literary research is reaching ever-widening circles. The conference in Wisła presented both a panoramic and detailed account of Polish literature in Canada and the United States, but still it paid attention to the need for focusing on the less explored issue of Polish literature in Latin and South America.

The article deals with the stages of formation of the European space of education and science, in particular, the key role of each international assembly is determined for 20 years. Structural-organizational and structural-functional analysis of the effectiveness of the legislative and structural implementation of higher education systems for the development of the Bologna process was conducted, as well as a chronological analysis of the forums held under the auspices of the Bologna Process.

On October 24-25, 2016 the University of Rzeszów hosted the International Conference “Here I am / I inhabit my own life”. Poetry, prose and epistolary writings of Anna Frajlich, whose honored guest was famous Polish poet, writer, essayist, editor, lecturer of Polish language and literature at Columbia University in New York City. The aim of meeting was to describe Frajlich’s individual poetics, discuss her place in literary tradition, analyze a variety of her styles, motives, topics and toposes used. The speakers were also interested in the biography of the poet perceived in the contexts of such cultural and methodological notions as identity, emigration, alienation or re-rooting. The conference was organized by Institute of Polish Philology of the University of Rzeszów, Department of Theory and Anthropology of Literature, Workshop of Research and Record of Literary Culture, and Polish Philology Faculty of Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
