The purpose of this article is to present the finds of burnt daub, discovered in 2009–2010 during the pre-investment studies at the multicultural settlement, site No.1 in Zamiechów (dist. Jarosław), in the course of the A4 motorway construction from Rzeszów towards the border with Ukraine. The burnt daub, coming from features fills dated to the four chronological horizons, is associated with the function of the populations affiliated to the Mierzanowice culture, Przeworsk culture, Early Slavic period and 10th-13th centuries. In addition to the basic analysis of this important building material, the issues associated with certain possibilities of interpretation relating to questions of chronology and function of these facilities have been discussed in the article. Taking into account multiculturalism and a long chronology of the settlement, the main objective of this paper was to compare whether the individual horizons can indicate some clear differences in the use of burnt daub and whether the statistical research can confirm such differentiation.
