Pozycja Dating of the Mierzanowice culture settlement in Jarosław, site 158, Podkarpackie province, based on the results of radiocarbon analyses(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2019) Pelisiak, Andrzej; Rybicka, MałgorzataFor the Mierzanowice culture from western Lesser Poland, the settlement in Iwanowice, Babia Góra site, is a chronological benchmark. A large number of datings obtained for objects from Jarosław, site 158, Podkarpackie province, provides grounds for treating that settlement as a model one in the eastern range of the Mierzanowice culture. The radiocarbon dating and ceramic design features allow them to be placed in a wide chronological frame of 2200–2000 BC.Pozycja Materiały krzemieniarskie ze stanowiska Wysoka 1, pow. łańcucki (badania 1995)(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2022-12) Pelisiak, AndrzejThis study contains information about flint materials discovered at the site 1 in Wysoka, Łańcut commune. This inventory consists of 57 items. Most of them were discovered in the context of features of the Mierzanowice culture. They are made mainly of Świeciechów flint, and they are of typical Early Bronze Age flintwork nature (half-products of bifacial axes, backed blade knife). In addition, not numerous Neolithic artefacts of the Malice culture were discovered there.Pozycja Spongiolitowa forma odlewnicza ze stanowiska nr 20 w Przemyślu. Rezultaty badań(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Bober, Monika; Trąbska, Joanna; Pilarz, Monika; Trybalska, BarbaraSite No. 20 in Przemyśl, is an important research point of the early medieval city. During field works, two parts of a casting mould for the production of axes were found at the bottom of the settlement layer. No traces of copper were observed on the discovered form, but there were visible signs of burnout outside. This form is affiliated to the Mierzanowice culture. Petrographic tests have been performed using polarizing and scanning microscopes as well as microapaleontological examinations. They allow the researchers to identify the mould material as spongiolite (spiculite), most likely coming from the vicinity of Przemyśl, where the outcrops of this rock are located. With high probability, it can be stated that this material comes from the upper part of the Lgota beds covering the aforementioned lithostratigraphic units. The type of raw material used meets the conditions for using it as a casting mould. The obtained data allow for conclusion about the local production of this form. Pozycja The early Bronze Age feature from Wilczyce, site 10, Sandomierz district – An interpretation of its functioning in light of multidimensional analysis(the Authors, 2020) Jarosz, Paweł; Boroń, Tomasz; Witkowska, Barbara; Winiarska-Kabacińska, Małgorzata; Różańska-Tuta, Zuzanna; Skrzyński, Grzegorz; Osypińska, Marta; Kerneder-Gubała, Katarzyna; Szczepanek, Anita; Sołodko, Anna; Włodarczak, PiotrThe aim of this paper is to present the multidimensional characteristics of the feature number 4 at the site in Wilczyce located on the Sandomierz Upland. During exploration of the pit rich flint material, fragments of pottery vessels and animal bones were found and just above the bottom a “deposit” involved a human skull of the young female, two cattle mandibles, a sheep/goat tibia and astragalus, a damaged cattle scapula and radius, and a polishing stone were deposited. The C14 date obtained from the tooth from the cattle jaw was 3790 ± 35 BP. Based on the shape and the size of discovered feature it is possible to classify it as a typical storage pit but presence of “deposit” enable to postulate a ritual character of assemblage that reflect some kind of burial practices of the Mierzanowice culture. Rituals in the form of interring the dead or parts of their bodies can be found also in the Unietice culture so such features may indicate the emergence of a certain supra- -regional and cross-cultural trend in the early Bronze Age.Pozycja The Middle, Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age Cemetery in Skołoszów, site 7, Dist. Jarosław, in the Light of the Results of Non-invasive Archaeological Survey in 2016(Fundacja Rzeszowskiego Ośrodka Archeologicznego, 2017) Cwaliński, Mateusz; Niebieszczański, Jakub; Król, DariuszIn the autumn of 2016 a geomagnetic survey was conducted in Skołoszów, site. 7, Dist Jarosław. The magnetic prospection took place on a low hill spanning 2.12 ha in total. Distribution of the anomalies, as visible on a map depicting obtained data, reflects numerous structures related to human activity in the area during the prehistory and historic times. Among them are two features interpreted as residues of funerary rituals taking place at the site. One of them pertains to Middle Neolithic earthen long barrow, whereas the second by its shape resembles Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age tumuli. Apart from the latter, one can discern numerous anomalies potentially related to pits and ditches. Interpretation of the geophysical imagery was based upon the results of excavations conducted in 2010 in the nearby section of Skołoszów, site 7. In the process, funeral structures in the types of earthen long barrow and a presumable tumulus were recorded. Thus, it is possible to confront observations inferred from the results of non-invasive, magnetometric survey, with data obtained by means of more direct exploratory methods. Besides the prehistoric record, our investigation resulted in reconstruction of the trenches most probably dating to the First World War.Pozycja Wielokulturowe stanowisko w Wysokiej, stan. 1, pow. łańcucki – wyniki badań sondażowych z 1995 roku (analiza obiektów nieruchomych i źródeł ceramicznych)(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2022-12) Adamik-Proksa, JoannaThe aim of the article is to present and analyse immovable finds and ceramic materials of the Mierzanowice, Trzicniec and Tarnobrzeg Lusatian cultures collected from site No. 1 in Wysoka, coming from trial excavations carried out in 1995.
