Pozycja Archaeobotanical Macroscopic Plant Remains from the Early Neolithic Dwelling Structures at the Brzezie 40, Targowisko 16 and 14–15 Sites in Western Małopolska(the Authors, 2021) Abramów, JoannaThe aim of this short article is to present the results of archaeobotanical analysis of macroscopic plant remains obtained in 2018–2019, during the test excavations carried out on three selected sites from Targowisko settlement region (Brzezie 40, Targowisko 16 and 14–15). Thanks to the field research strategy adopted, chronologically compact plant remains were obtained from objects included in the house structures, coming from narrow time horizons, equal to the operation time of individual Linienbandkeramik houses from the beginning of the Želiezovce phase (Brzezie 40 and Targowisko 16) and the phase of the classic Malice culture (Targowisko 14–15).Pozycja Early Neolithic Flint Assemblages from the Targowisko Settlement Region(the Authors, 2021) Wąs, MarcinThe article presents flint materials obtained from domestic facilities from the late phase of “Linienbandkeramik” from the Brzezie 40 and Targowisko 16 sites and the classic phase of the Malice culture from the 14–15 Targowisko site. These complexes contain relatively few monuments. Their advantage, however, is that they belong to chronologically compact groups. Since the relics of the discovered houses are spatially isolated from other settlement structures, it can be assumed that the set of flint artifacts belonging to them is relatively homogeneous. Thanks to this, they can contribute considerably to the discussion on the processes of cultural heterogenization and the origin of post-LBK cultures, including the Malice culture.Pozycja Field Research in the Targowisko Region in 2018–2019(the Authors, 2021) Golański, Adam; Kadrow, Sławomir; Krzywda, AnnaThe article presents the results of test excavations at three sites in the early Neolithic settlement region of Targowisko, carried out in 2018–2019. The goal of these investigations was the detection of fragments of Neolithic settlement zones where only one building phase has survived. It was decided to perform this task using a magnetometer as part of a slightly wider program of geomagnetic prospection. The second goal was to acquire sets of arti- and ecofacts related to the shortest possible period of time, i.e. equal to the existence of one family living in one house, representing one cultural tradition. The third goal was to explain the generators and mechanisms of early Neolithic cultural transformation from a micro-regional perspective.Pozycja Settlement of Danubian cultures in the area of Świecie Plateau(Fundacja Rzeszowskiego Ośrodka Archeologicznego, 2014) Gackowski, Andrzej; Białowarczuk, MarcinThis article is an attempt at defining the basic factors which determined the settlement of cultures of Danubian origin in the area of Świecie Plateau. In case of the analysed area, this will concern the Linear Pottery Band culture as well as the Brześć Kujawski culture. The Świecie region was not chosen without reason. It is one of the areas on the Polish Lowland, where the character of colonization of the Early Neolithic communities has been explored relatively poorly. This contrasts with relatively well excavated areas of Greater Poland, Kuyavia or Chełmno Land. This study should not be treated as a comprehensive synthesis and reconstruction of all the phenomena of interest. Due to poor state of research, we had to leave out some essential issues, focusing on a general outline of the problem as well as the analysis of basic tendencies in distribution and location of settlement points of Danubian culture communities. The general evaluation of settlement of the Świecie area was based on the surface research data from studies conducted within the framework of the research project named “Archaeological Picture of Poland”. They will be supplemented by results of few field studies (Stare Marzy, site no. 5, commune of Dragacz), conducted as part of rescue excavations along the route of the planned highway A-1.Pozycja The technology of LBK ceramics in eastern Romania(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2018) Kadrow, Sławomir; Preoteasa, Constantin; Rauba-Bukowska, Anna; Ţurcanu, SenicaThe paper shows selected aspects of the technology of ceramic production within the Linear Pottery culture (LBK) in eastern Romania. The authors present the results of mineralogical and petrographic analyses which have covered 23 ceramic samples from that area. Together with the analysis of 6 samples from the neighbouring Republic of Moldova, the research has provided the basis for more general conclusions concerning prehistory. The results of the analysis of ceramics technology clearly indicate the NW genesis of LBK in the territory of Romanian Moldova. They also support the thesis that local settlement agglomerations should be dated not only to the music-note phase of this culture but also to the period contemporary with the Želiezovce phase, despite the lack of ceramics in this style on this area.
