Pozycja Nieznana brązowa szpila uchata(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Kłosińska, Elżbieta MałgorzataThe discovery of the pin with an eyelet, incorrectly identified with the vicinity of Biłgoraj, most likely comes from Silesia or Greater Poland. It is a decoration that can be associated with the onset of the Lusatian culture in these areas.Pozycja Anna Barłowska (1933–2021)(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Ligoda, JoannaPozycja Wyniki badań i nadzorów archeologicznych przeprowadzonych na ulicy Kościuszki w Rzeszowie w 2018 roku(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Gorazd-Dziuban, Paulina; Jabłkowski, Michał; Kocańda, PawełThe article focuses on the results of archaeological works and watching briefs that were conducted at Kościuszko Street in Rzeszów in 2018. In the course of research the remains of the wooden lining of the street were uncovered, which were associated with the street reconstruction and functioning until the Austrian times. Additionally, the thesis about a much shorter range of Kościuszko Street and the distinctiveness of the parish church as an additional point in the urban defence system was confirmed. The presented text deals with describing each of the excavation trench and summarizing the results of an archaeological watching brief.Pozycja Elementy obuwia odnalezione na ulicy Kościuszki w Rzeszowie(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Gorazd-Dziuban, PaulinaKościuszko Street in Rzeszów, leading from the market square to the main promenade, is considered to be one of the oldest streets in the city. In the late Middle Ages and the early Modern Period, it connected the city centre with the parish church, where the first owners of Rzeszów rest. In the course of the archaeological watching brief conducted during the reconstruction of the street, it was possible to collect a significant number of artefacts related to the everyday life of the city (e.g. tiles, glass objects, coins, horseshoes). The subject matter of this article is a selection of footwear pieces and the items directly related to them. The research gives an opportunity to get to know better the material culture and tastes of the inhabitants of Rzeszów.Pozycja Nieinwazyjne i małoinwazyjne badania archeologiczne grodziska w Horbowie-Kolonii, w powiecie bialskim, w województwie lubelskim, w roku 2021(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Piotrowski, Marcin; Piotrowska, Patrycja; Kłosińska, Elżbieta MałgorzataThe article concerns the research of an early medieval fortified settlement in Horbowo-Kolonia, site 10, in the Biała Podlaska district, Lublin voivodeship (AZP 60-88/88-10). The studies were non-invasive and minimally invasive, with the use of geological probing, geophysics and archaeological remote sensing. On their basis, it was established that the fortified settlement in Horbowo is a two- rampart structure with a moat between the ramparts. The main (internal) rampart is made of one row of boxes, with a gate in its eastern part. Apart from the area from the fortified settlement, its immediate vicinity („podgrodzie”) was also examined.Pozycja XVI-wieczny dwór obronny w Zgłobniu i jego nowa funkcja – Regionalna Składnica Zabytków Archeologicznych jako nowy oddział Muzeum Okręgowego w Rzeszowie(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Bober, Monika; Ligoda, JoannaThe text aims to present the history of the 16th-century manor, which was rebuilt into a granary at the beginning of the 19th century, as well as to show the results of research work carried out there and the revitalization process of the building. The ongoing renovation and construction works, which started over 10 years ago, led to establishing a new regional branch of the District Museum in Rzeszów – the Regional Storehouse of Archaeological Artefacts in Zgłobień.Pozycja Nowożytny (?) grot oszczepu z Rudnika nad Sanem, pow. niżański, woj. podkarpackie(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Florek, Marek; Stępnik, TomaszAn iron spearhead accidentally found in 2020 in the woods of Rudnik nad Sanem, was initially described as a piece of the spear and dated, on the basis of its shape, back to the Middle Ages, most probably to 10th–13th century. In the course of conservation work the remains of wood from the socket were restored. Wood species analysis revealed that the shaft was made of maple tree. C14 dating shows that it originated from Modern Period, most likely from the 17th century. In light of these discoveries one should conclude that the spearhead was not part of a spear, but of a javelin used as a hunting weapon, probably in the 17th century.Pozycja Поселення пізнього етапу трипільської культури Кунисівці і Перебиківці у Подністер’ї(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Позіховський, Олександр; Гавінський, АндрійCurrently, it is possible to define not only the area occupied by the communities of the late Tripolye culture, but also the chronological framework in which they functioned. Radiocarbon dates allow them to be placed between 3350/3330–3000/2900 ВС. This period is characterized by the unification of many features of material culture. However, its northwest region is distinguished by the presence of Baden features and the Funnel Beaker culture.Pozycja Statystyka w archeologii, czyli dlaczego nie trzeba bać się liczb(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Rajpold, WojciechThe great motorway research and construction investments have brought and are still bringing a huge set of new data. In 2019 alone, one million new archaeological artefacts were sourced. Therefore, there is a problem of systematic and comprehensive development of the obtained sources, in which statistics may be helpful. The article introduces selected statistical methods and shows examples of their use. It focuses on their usefulness in archaeological research, and thus it may become a boost for their wider use in the development of archaeological sources.Pozycja Radiocarbon dating of the Funnel Beaker culture settlement in Vynnyky-Lysivka (Western Ukraine)(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Hawinskyj, Andryi; Rybicka, Małgorzata; Król, DariuszIn the 1950s, a settlement of the Funnel Beaker culture (FBC) was discovered on the Lysivka Hill in Vynnyky (Fig. 1), located in the centre of the West Ukrainian territory of this culture (Hawinskyj, Rybicka 2021). Currently, it belongs to a small group of FBC sites in Western Ukraine that have been excavated. The information presented by M. Peleshschyshyn, who conducted excavations in Vynnyky-Lysivka, regarding the relationship between the FBC community and the Tripolye culture (TC) was particularly interesting (see Rybicka 2017). He believed that Vynnyky recorded the coexistence of their population (Peleshschyshyn 1998a, 191). The burnt daub clusters discovered at that time could probably have been the remains of dwellings. The aim of the research carried out since 2016 was to verify the hypotheses of M. Peleshschyshyn (1998a) in the context of the FBC-TC relationship (Hawinskyj, Rybicka 2021) and to establish the date of the settlement usage in Vynnyky-Lysivka. Radiocarbon dating obtained for the samples from the features from the northern zone of the settlement, allow the researchers to be placed Vynnyky-Lysivka in the period 3500–3360 BC and synchronized with the third phase of the southeastern FBC group.Pozycja Próba klasyfikacji typologicznej glinianych przęślików tarnobrzeskiej kultury łużyckiej(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Jabłkowska, AleksandraThe aim of the article is to present an attempt at typological classification of clay spindle whorls of the Tarnobrzeg Lusatian culture. It is a closely related category with textiles, but still quite often marginalized by archaeologists in the studies of the excavation materials. It is probably the effect of their commonness and obvious purpose. In opposition to such perception of this category of sources, a much broader aspect of the role of spindle whorls in phenomena of sociocultural and economic importance will be presented. Spindle whorls can be a starting point for research on the recognition and reconstruction of the weaving of the population of the Tarnobrzeg Lusatian culture, research on the chronology and cultural relations of the described taxonomic unit as well as research on its rituals and social structures.Pozycja Gliniane przedmioty zoomorficzne ze stanowiska w Korczowej 22, pow. jarosławski(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Jabłkowski, MichałDuring the motorway excavations carried out in 2010 in Korczowa, Jarosław dist., site 22, two zoomorphic items made of clay were discovered. These are: a fragment of a pendant and a fragment of a figurine. Figurative representations discovered at archaeological sites are associated with all possible forms of art. They are interpreted as objects of cult significance, children’s toys or manifestations of the magic sphere. The popularity of these representations and the influences of the „Eastern” cultures, especially the forest-stepped zone of the Scythian cultural circle, on the Tarnobrzeg Lusatian culture suggest that both the pendant and the figurine from site 22 in Korczowa should be associated with aforementioned cultural provenance.Pozycja ‘With a Weapon in Hand and a Horse by Side.’ Weapons and Horse Harness in Graves of Vekerzug Culture from an Interregional Perspective(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2021) Kozubová, AnitaThis study deals with graves of Vekerzug culture, which contained weapons and horse harness. These graves reflect an evident social differentiation of Vekerzug society. Special attention in the study was paid to the most accurate geographic and cultural determination of the origin of individual weapon types and horse harness components in the context of new knowledge about Vekerzug culture and answering the question to what extent these finds reflect its interregional contacts. Important is also definition of possible armament schemes of Vekerzug culture and their comparison with armament schemes in the neighbouring cultural regions, especially with the forest-steppe Western Podolian group, Ciumbrud culture and Ferigile culture. Cultural and spatial analyses of individual types of weapons and horse harness as well as of the armament schemes of Vekerzug culture show that the problem of interregional contacts of this culture, mainly the eastern ones, must be considered more differentially than it has been previously presented in scientific literature. At the same time, they confirm the recent knowledge that the effect of eastern influences on Vekerzug culture is in scientific literature without a reason constantly overestimated.
