Pozycja Contribution to the research on the use of flint and stone by the Lusatian culture population during the Bronze age and Early Iron age in the Lublin region (remarks of a non-lithic expert)(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Kłosińska, Elżbieta MałgorzataThe population of the Lusatian culture inhabiting the Lublin area during the Bronze age and Early Iron age used various items made of flint and stone. The most spectacular finds include sickles and sickles inserts with surface retouch. Items made from flint and stone were used mainly as tools, but also as weapons, as well as prestige indicators. They also had symbolic function. These artefacts were probably produced on site at settlements and they were among the accessories of everyday life of the population living then. In the Early Iron age, in the valley of the Vistula River, local flint deposits were exploited. Flint knapping workshops were set up here. Extremly numerous flint artefacts were recorded at these workshops and they represent the so-called Kosin industry.Pozycja Wyniki badań archeologicznych prowadzonych w 2018 roku w kruchcie Kościoła oo. Bernardynów w Rzeszowie(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Jabłkowski, MichałArchaeological research conducted within the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Rzeszów (Bernardine church) created a unique opportunity for interventional archaeological research, the first of this kind in the discused temple. In the course of studies, the remains of the church cemetery, which surrounded the former wooden church (existed on the site of today’s building) were recorded. Obtaining a collection of movable relics was a very important discovery, such as iron nails from coffins, pottery sherds and coins. Earthworks carried out in the church gave the opportunity to record the foundations of the porch, which was not mentioned in earlier literature. Thus, archaeological excavations in the church updated and expanded the information on the history of the monastery and the city of Rzeszów.Pozycja O ewaluacji czasopism naukowych uwag kilka, czyli dlaczego „Materiały i Sprawozdania Rzeszowskiego Ośrodka Archeologicznego” będą nadal wydawane(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Czopek, SylwesterThe article discusses and comments on the current bibliometric status of journal the “Materials and Reports of the Rzeszów Archaeological Centre”, especially in the context of new regulations applied in Polish science. Зимне(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Позіховський, ОлександрWith reference to the literature on the subject, there is a discussion on the chronological affiliation of the ceramics of the Trypillian culture from the site in Zimne. Belonging to individual groups is also considered. Lack of full publication presenting ceramics with such characteristics makes it difficult to explain this issue. Therefore, it is necessary to publish the complete collection of the Trypillian culture coming from this site.Pozycja Considerations on the state of the research on the Corded Ware culture in southeastern Poland and needs of studies on social structures of its communities(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Machnik, JanIn the paper the finds of the Corded Ware culture cemeteries on the Sokal Perch and the Kańczuga Upland are discussed. Chłopice, pow. jarosławski(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Głowacz, Michał; Szpila, MarcinThis article presents the results of rescue excavations carried out in 2018 at the multicultural archaeological site Łowce 17, Jarosław district, in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. Rezultaty badań(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Bober, Monika; Trąbska, Joanna; Pilarz, Monika; Trybalska, BarbaraSite No. 20 in Przemyśl, is an important research point of the early medieval city. During field works, two parts of a casting mould for the production of axes were found at the bottom of the settlement layer. No traces of copper were observed on the discovered form, but there were visible signs of burnout outside. This form is affiliated to the Mierzanowice culture. Petrographic tests have been performed using polarizing and scanning microscopes as well as microapaleontological examinations. They allow the researchers to identify the mould material as spongiolite (spiculite), most likely coming from the vicinity of Przemyśl, where the outcrops of this rock are located. With high probability, it can be stated that this material comes from the upper part of the Lgota beds covering the aforementioned lithostratigraphic units. The type of raw material used meets the conditions for using it as a casting mould. The obtained data allow for conclusion about the local production of this form.Pozycja Siekierka z brązu ze starszej epoki brązu z Miejsca Piastowego, pow. krośnieński(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Pasterkiewicz, Wojciech; Dziedzic, AndrzejThe article concerns a bronze axe found accidentally at Miejsce Piastowe in 2018. Cz. 1. Analiza typologiczno-chronologiczna źródeł ruchomych pozyskanych w trakcie badań w latach 2005–2007(Muzeum Okręgowe w Rzeszowie, 2019) Bober, MonikaSite No. 20 covers the area on the west side of the cathedral church, around the building of the former Cathedral School at the Cathedral Square. This site is an important research point in Przemyśl. The discussed area has an extensive stratigraphy. The elevated nature of the place is a remain of an earth rampart from the Early Middle Ages. Below the rampart intensive settlement was uncovered. This is evidenced by the considerable thickness of the settlement layer, the presence of immovable features and plenty of movable finds. The traces of features make it possible to distinguish two phases of open settlement at the examined site – the Roman phase and the Early Middle Ages phase. The article presents the results of a typological and chronological analysis of movable artefacts obtained in the course of excavations at site No. 20 in Przemyśl carried out in the years 2005–2007. The analysis of the site stratigraphy will be the subject of a separate article.
