Research on the creative class and its impact on regional development (in particular the development of the creative industry account) in Poland are relatively new and have not yet allow for conclusive. The author describes the theory of Richard Florida's creative class and its impact on the perception of regional development (especially urban development). Subsequently, the foundation of the creative sector, that sector focusing on manufacturing activity involving intellectual property. According to the British classification of DCIM creative sector includes activities relating to advertising, architecture, art and commercial art trade, handicraft art, design (utility and interior), fashion design, film and photography, software, music and visual arts, publishing, television and radio. On the basis of the ratio of classification codes DCIM Polish activities presented is the number of entities belonging to the creative sector in Rzeszow. Then, based on the number of persons employed in these companies was estimated number of creative class in the region. Studies carried out in this way is subject to many errors. Firstly, the researcher can't be sure that all the entities that can be assigned to the creative sector showed an adequate number of PKD, and vice versa, some companies that are in that sector are not able to demonstrate this code. Secondly, the investigator can't estimate what proportion of employees in a company belonging to the sector is a truly creative individuals. Notwithstanding these methodological shortcomings can be seen that the creative sector (and also the creative class) develops in Rzeszow. There is a strong need for further research on the structure of class and industry in the region and to conduct comparative studies with similar territorial units.
